Was on patrol for about 2 hours today. Didn't have any roleplay at all. Had 3 incidents with multiple armed rebels. 2 were gunfights, 1 we just let them all go. Not naming gangs but it is ridiculous. And before anyone says anything like 'Just report them for poor RP', I can't because they didn't actually break any rules. 

As soon as I ask someone to put their hands up, all I get is "Taze me and you will get killed" or "I have snipers in the area. Let me go now!" Honestly, I think I should just ignore every armed rebel in the area because I know what will happen.

I know Police aren't perfect either because they sometimes 'Powergame' however all we get now is 'Let me go or you will be shot'. Why should we bother when we know what will happen. I was about to taze someone and my Police Officer said as we were about to taze him 'Don't taze me or bad things will happen'. Sorry if we don't sound very happy when we get things like this but it needs to stop. Accept a ticket and move on. 

Some people will moan at me for saying this and plenty of posts have been made about, but I want to put MY point across. People will moan t me, haters will hate but I am not really bothered. I just want it to change.

But why does this situation have to always end with put your hands up or you will be tazed? Can the police not agree to allow the person to roleplay without having a their hands on their head regardless of whether they have a gun or not. "Hands up or you will be tazed" is almost exactly like "Hands up or you will be shot".

 
@Saul Goodman When police taze a civilian, we roleplay with them to find out what they was doing. If the rebel is not agressive we will NOT restrain them, however the game mechanics are that to check someones licenses, escort them, search them etc we MUST restrain them in some cases. When rebels threaten to kill, no RP can come out of the deaths of other people on the server. We have been told that we can not always win, I feel as tthough rebels need to know the same thing aswell. In real life do you go up to a police officer and straight up say "Just here to sell drugs" No!!!! So why do people do it on a Role-playing server?

Sometimes I'll have my MXM on my back, doing no harm and then I'll get told to put my hands on my head regardless, why cant we just sit and have a chat with the police? I'm not going to walk over to 3 cops alone to rob, kidnap or shoot you EVERY single time. e.g last night, I was roleplaying as a car cleaner at kavala Fuel, but instead of the officers just having a chat, they send their PCSO in while they all get in positions. Why? Also, @Ferguss if you asked me to put my hands up just because I had a rifle not letting me speak I would possibly do the same.

If you are not doing anything threatening towards me or any other officers then I will be nice to you and chat and see whats going on etc. But its when rebels just have there illegal guns out with no respect for the law showing threatening behaviour toward me or other officers then my first concern is what you are going to do with that gun then once they put it on their back we can have a nice chat about why they are carrying it.

@Ferguss right so cops will moan that rebels will say " taze me and your dead" we know that but their REBELS you wouldn't go to someone who is a rebel in real life and say they would be tazed and not expect being shot

Wen i was a cop, i didnt always care about they having hands on there heads, because its RP, that means you can actualy RP taking a licens from them, without them having hands on there heads.

So what i did was asking if they have a lisens. then ask if they could hand it over. wile they look for it i tend to ask. so what name will i finde on this lisens of yours, giving them a chance to come up with a RP on who they are. that way both cops and rebels can roleplay without anyone being in restrain if they have not acted hostile.

 
@Ferguss I completely understand your point of view, and somewhat agree with it. However;

I feel the main person responsible for what happens when you go on patrol is yourself, perhaps you should take an approach of sometimes ignoring the illegal rifles or get them to put them away if it bothers you that much, i feel when you tell someone they will be tazed its a hostile action and as such will be responded in kind. I Roleplay with Rebels ALL the time, i feel it only results in a gunfight if I allow it too. 

Telling someone to put there hands up should be the last result, the roleplay should come before this. (and after but yeah) 

my suggestion would be that try to change your style of playing to allow more leniancy in your patrols and perhaps you will get the roleplay you seek!

The problem with tazing someone first to then roleplay with them whilst they are in restraints is that you're forcing them to RP with you purely on your terms which is incredibly naff for the other person. At the end of the day, if you're going to approach an armed rebel with such hostility, why are you surprised they are hostile back?

 
Since when did People carrying tasers fight ISIS?

Thanks for all of the comments - nice that no one is getting angry yet. I understand that rebels get frustrated at Police and such however I wish rebels would just accept a ticket.

He's making a perfectly fine point Fergus. If the word "ISIS" itself offends you then that's worrying, it means they are winning. I wouldn't turn on the BBC news for the next 5 years if this is the case.

@_Harry_ I do not wish to taslk in depth about such a sensitive matter, but lets just say that if a terrorist group member was in the UK their would be no 'initiation' it would be more like a military national security operation, no police would be involved.

Rebels on Altis life are simply meant to RP as gangs in real life, which tend to try and hide in alley ways when doing drug deals, definately not walking up to cops and straight up saying "Just dealing drugs"

 Also, if someone had an illegal weapon on show in the UK, believe me their would be over 20 cops attending, this is an RP server however so we cannot do this...Which can be very frustrating.
