Actually being K/D has very little, to nothing to do with ranking up or down. CS:GO is built up like a team-game, and there fore MVP has a big impact.  If you have a lot of MVP's in a game, you will get more MM. That's why people have been able to be promoted and demoted on ties. Of course...

I personally believe in 2nd chances for everyone. Even though some of Vincent's remarks have been a bit passive-aggressive and even just aggressive, I think everyone needs the chance to make up for those remarks or actions.  I don't know Vincent as a person though, and there fore can't say if...

I don't quite understand the role or purpose of the UNMC after the latest patches.. Could someone explain their new roles to me? Right now they just seem to be driving around and doing random stuff, so I got the impression they're just a white-listed gang with a permanent base, lol

This is a part of the gameplay experience. Not everything is easy, and sometimes you lose the stuff you fought hard for. It would be ridiculous to make it a safe-zone, as it ruins roleplaying. You just need to accept that not everything goes the way you want it to.
