I understand there is a really great system on Altis where you have an Independent Police Complains Commission (IPCC). I have seen some evidence of it on here also. I think this is a great thing which could probably help the FiveM server to flourish also.
I am fully aware that such a system is able to be weaponised in the wrong hands but I trust that those in charge of it are also aware of this and able to see through such abuses. I would like to ask if there is one on FiveM currently and if so then how do we use it? Also on the flip side can we use it for GOOD interactions? Ive had some mixed reactions from police on the server so far. A couple were absolutely brilliant and I would love to be able to thank them (OOC) but others were less than stellar and created an impression of a "gang in uniform". Please dont get me wrong I understand from first hand experience that trying to RP an LEO is one of the hardest things to do in RP because so many people just think you are there purely to be baited/shot at/be logged in just so that they can rob banks with impunity. I also get that this is a crime RP simulation and so a happy productive police force is probably one of the single most valuable faction in the whole game. If you have no cops then the cops and robbers vibe falls on its arse.
If there is a function/mechanic/reporting system in place to be able to praise the good ones and educate the less good ones then please can it be added to the Wiki/or some other reporting function that all of us can see and use and then we can take pride in our PD and their attempts to make the city a much better experience.
Is it also possible that we could see (the civilian population) some generic do's and dont's when interacting with PD to make our lives much easier? I dont mean like the whole police handbook as thats metagaming but if there are some basic rules - such as the highway code being one for traffic rules, perhaps there are behavioural procedures that PD need to follow, such as they HAVE to give their name when approaching a situation or their badge number and be CLEARLY identified by the civilian (we arent criminals until we have been convicted) when engaging in an interaction. I have had scenarios where PD have basically refused to be identified and this just kills the mood for me basically. It may go some way towards creating a more honest and respectable RP for most people to engage with the PD in. After all, we are innocent until proven guilty.
To end on a positive note, I would like to say thank you personally to all of the current serving PD, I know at times it can be one of the most frustrating jobs on the server but without you guys it would devolve into anarchy so thank you for keeping us safe.
