Concerning the AEGIS Contract.

Only making assumptions based of what the UNMC turned into last time and what I've heard about them, surely that's only fair I presume the group to be what it once was? Fair enough there's new command but the gear/equipment and even name hasn't recieved any kind of rebranding to lead me to think it won't be what it was.

Its good to see I'm not the only one that realises that there's too many rebel groups that penalise the hobo. Is everyone else blind because they are these rebel groups? Or is it because they're safely sitting in their hundreds of millions and it doesn't bother them? Hmm...
well considering every single aspect of UNMC is different , for you to piss on our effort with shit comments is really insulting, is it fair for me to assume AIGIS is shit and has no members because thats what they USED to be?

@DemonPupyI'm sorry your own group never got the opportunity to have one of these contracts when you requested it, as CSI's we believed it would be best not to offer a group of new players such a deal. This decisions was in my eyes validated when myself and Axolotl ran into your group in game with several members dressed like common hobos, carrying 7.62 rifles, and having murder/cop killer charges on their names. I believe there were also illegal items in the trucks you were driving, but it was a while ago and cannot recall the details of the situation.

The contract was given to AEGIS only after a similar contract had been implemented several months earlier with the group PEGASUS. To the best of the current CSI's knowledge, the PEGASUS contract had been met with no opposition from the Staff team. After PEGASUS became less active we decided to offer a similar contract to AEGIS in the hopes that this would spark interest in their group and making it possible for them to recruit new members led by a core group of experienced and long standing players.

Sadly an end was brought about this agreement before it's trial period was up.  As stated before, I believed it better to nullify the contract in it's entirety, rather than force AEGIS members to attempt to work with equipment unsuitable for the job.

illegal items
I remember that time and they were salt...also we only started killing cops couple days back. @Tex Blackwoodlove ya bud.

You still talking about PEGASUS...I've no idea who they are bud...also instead of similar contract, why didnt you offer them the same contract, it would've been easier and all this can be avoided?

The only differences between the PEGASUS and AEGIS contracts was that AEGIS were contracted solely for the purpose of protecting legal civillians. That and the fact that AEGIS did not require payment for their services.

I'd say it's about as fair as having yourself and the group of people you play with publicly slate the police and three CSIs on your own livestream.

pretty sure i laughed because you crashed, not really slating, and the particular group i was playing with, it was the first time i played/streamed with them so i cant controll what they where saying, but if we are discussing personal issue spunky then ''UNMC need big guns SO we can have big guns because your only here for us to fight''-direct quote CSI 2016 lol

How is this relevant to anything in regards to the AEGIS Contract.

UNMC was mentioned by AEGIS themselves, Adster responded to the dribble as such (although a little over the top).

constructive please...

If AEGIS want to make a change and help the server, they can full well do it without some stupid contract surely? What's stopping them helping the civilians with these rifles regardless? If the claim of police never showing up then it's a non issue to it? This thread essentially was just going to be a drama fest from the start, especially once people started dragging the UNMC into it, given no one knows what they are gonna be like yet, unless you're going off what they used to be and if we do that, the old heads of AEGIS back in my first time in the cops weren't so squeaky clean as the current ones in terms of activities.

How about we lock the thread before handbags are thrown and people go too far? I say this because the thread started with a quite baseless statement of the staff voiding the contract when in fact all they did was void the weapon part?

I don't know if if that's being used entirely in context, I remember we were speculatively discussing just how opposed the UNMC and Police might be. Being that we know nothing concrete about the stance of the UNMC, it's safe to say that most of that discussion will be irrelevant once details on the faction are revealed.

I couldn't go as far as to give an exact transcript though.

Fair point, as is the way with forum threads, it's sometimes hard not to get involved. Apologies.

If you see what I say as pissing on your efforts then I apologise Adster. I know you and Khadamir are putting lots of effort into the UNMC but other than promises in newsletters I don't recall any concrete news on what their activities on the island will be. No hard feelings and it wasn't a personal attack on your hard work so I do apologise if it seems I'm bringing up dirt and throwing it around the sand pit.

After having an actual and really informative response from @Neo (thank you) I'm more aware of the outside issues surrounding this issue.

Apologies if I seem to be trying to start a shit fest; I haven't displayed anything I've said in a way (in my opinion) that's offensive/purposeful to causing a stir.

Thank you for the outside perspective on AEGIS itself.

It would have been nice to be informed properly of all the issues surrounding it rather than people come to this post and accuse me of trying to cause a stir, thank you very much for that. (This isn't aimed at anyone in particular)

I know better...& now Dylan, give me a like!

I just wanna state in this post my small minded opinion, since I am totally not involved in this, but wish for the best for this server & gameplay.

So, you got my support AEGIS group. Thumbs up!

EDIT: TY Dylan

samat i got no issue with AEGIS, i know you are all good guys, and i also apologise if i overreacted , cheers buddy

Sad to see this has turned into a bit of a bashing thread.

The reason we made a contract with AEGIS was because they are a long standing gang in the community with a lot of respect. They showed us a full handbook and activity sheet and plans they had beforehand. Their aim was solely to offer their services to the public, no payment needed from cops and it was agreed they would not interfere with our jobs. We offered them to have actual guns instead of pistols, this was the reason we needed a contract, keeping it to pistols gave us no need for a contract whatsoever. We felt they needed guns for self defense, since we all know this island is nothing like the UK, where every rebel can easily make millions (yes, it really is easy) and have unlimited access to big guns.

So why did we not offer it to more gangs? Because it was a new concept, untried, we wanted to start it small, see if it would work at all and we wanted reliable people for it. We could've potentially expanded from there.

So why did we pick an "inactive" gang? Because with the contract, they had the potential to recruit again and once again we wanted to start small.

Now onto something that lies close to my heart: "The Police is shit"

No they're not, they try their hardest amidst constant gunfights, complaints and even their superiors watching them closely. Because yes, if an officer fucks up and it's brought to the higher ups, we do take action. Yet, I don't see a lot of PCC's and yet am happy to see a lot of recommends on the forum.

When I joined the Police over a year ago, Athira had 28 officers, when I became CI, Athira had 34 officers and when I left it had 62. So in 1 year a constabulary has grown double what it was. Academy works their asses off to try and keep the standard up, they reformed some of their training only this weekend. But with such vast numbers and an ever changing server, we cannot help, but lose some quality along the way. We need to cater to 3 servers, meaning applications have opened up to younger recruits, people no longer need to play on the server for at least 2 weeks and we've had recruitment drives.

We try hard, but you will always find a bad cop somewhere along the way, just like in real life and just like we meet shit rebels as well. Luckily there are also awesome rebels, just like there's awesome cops.

Just to show, the police is quite large, please bear in mind, these are active members, meaning they have logged in at least once the past week, this excludes part-timers or absent officers:

That is true as I heard that the AEGIS members threaten to leave AEGIS if they found out, the contract was voided. AEGIS needed the contract more than us which was fair enough.

"The Police is shit"
Who said that?
During the time, I've been in the Police Force, it was great. Police members tries to respond to every dispatch such as Copper trader even with the risk of getting killed.

awesome rebels, just like there's awesome cops.
You complimenting me? :3

We will, the reason of this thread was to get an insight around the reasoning to these said restrictions that management has decided on.

And as Axolotl beautifully put it, it was a test run on a trial period, and while the contract was active our applications & activity skyrocketed. We've recruited like-minded people to what we do, and they're all great guys.

This topic wasn't about getting the contract back because we will continue but as I've put it, not having to worry about cops taking away our firearms since we will have to comply to it, then we can protect civilians a lot more effective, while taking workload off the police's backs.

As Dain put it Win=/=Win.But as management decided due to the circumstances of the contract and the nature of it they didn't want it to be, and since it's their community they have the last say.
