Also featured in today's update are the following fixes:
Restraint warning messages should now be visible again, centre-screen.
Admins are now able to seize restrained player's weapons (thank you @Ciaran).
Selling houses now works again. Houses will sell regardless of crate and house-inventory contents, so empty them before you call the estate agents! No comps for foolishness!
NCA hat purchase now correctly limited to only NCA team members.
Many chairs throughout the map are now sit-down-onnable.
Loads of extraneous map objects made 'simpleObject' for speed, plus other map minor tweaks
Vehicle virtual-item inventories tweaked (HEMTT covered gets some allocation, plus minor rejigs of most trucks, Blackfish gets some inventory too. No Spoilers!!).
Please note that this may mean that players from extremely distant regions may experience trouble playing, yet most people from the USA and EU should be fine concerning ping (assuming you aren't on satellite internet...)
If you are reaching the maximum packet loss, there is most likely a problem within your last mile connection, or connectivity to your router. Try asking in the Tech Support forum or contact your ISP if this is happening (ArmA would be pretty unplayable at >25% loss)
New, improved shop system in place for Weapons and Clothing (all shops, all factions). Features preview camera and shopping cart (use mouse left and right buttons while in preview mode to spin player or camera). Purchases will attempt to be stored to Uniform, Vest or Backpack first (in that order). Option to skip purchase and avoid losing cash-value if item would replace existing item, uniform, clothing or gun+attachments (i.e. the old way).
New notication system - see all those missing hints of cash and XP you were always missing before - not fully rolled out to all notifications yet (nice one @Ciaran).
New HUD mode indicators - see your earplug, wanted, can't-shoot, and other statuses, bottom left of screen. @Ciaran
Christmas flavour - mince pie, tinsel, and some morsels of strange food your Nan brought you back from the Christmas German Market
Many NPCs replaced with Info-Stands (to keep those ol' frame-rates up). This is a stress-test... we might yet see them back, but we want to analyse what impact this has on server performance under maximum load, and releasing it live is the only way to check this out properly.
Fixes to UNMC recruit loadouts (you naughty soldiers you!)
Bounty-hunters and UNMC can now perform Restrain action if target player is prone, knocked out, or has hands-on-head. Not during tase (never grab a flinching hobo), and not without some opportunity to RP, we hope.
NHS personnel menus fixed in Athira and Pyrgos hospitals (no helis though - that is a Kavala-only thing - but you have your clothing and gear shops back everywhere).
Bounty-hunters now get half-bounty for successfully jailing a wanted person. We thought you were doing it for love, but no... now have cash!
Vehicle cleanup - doorlock interaction and lockpicking interaction now delay de-spawn for another 5 minutes. You can finish those Treasury raids now, eh? Just don't lose your keys!
New custom clothing - thanks to @Xsum for his Christmas spirit. And his paints, thinners, and methylated spirit.
Halloween clothing no longer on sale, and locked in shops. You can still wear your old skeleton gear, but not if you want to get all Christmassy! Only one custom civvy texture at once, folks! Makes 'em special...
Turtle soup processing now possible again! Not hard to make money at this now... apart from shooting and grabbing the buggers!
NCA vehicle garage fixed - you can get your cars out there again now, Mr Plod.
Rebel Hellcat no longer spawns in Police livery... but you have a nice rebel black instead. Mohawk also fixed (but nobody noticed this one!)
Various typos fixed (we can spell Pyrgos, honest!)
New car skins - competition winners - Thanks Proctor, Tactical Panda and Scott McTavish
Fix to UNMC weapons shop - first magazine now working correctly and reporting its description,
Fix to UNMC clothing shop - correct UNMC discounts now being applied at buy-time.
Dead bodies are now ejected from vehicles on death - Easier for NHS to revive people who die in vehicles.
New Admin Systems - To go along with the new staff system, a whole rewrite of the old heavily modified Team Atomic admin menu as well as the default Tonic admin menu has taken place, and the result gives admins more flexibility in terms of their abilities to deal with rule breakers. Some notable features include:
Forced Admin Gear - All staff below staff lead will be forced into admin gear, this is to allow for elimination of any claims of admins abusing tools during gunfights.
Extensive Logging - Extensive server side logging of admin actions in order to hold all admins accountable for their actions. These logs include useful information to the management team, including tools being activated/deactivated, actions being taken on players as well as the admin menu itself being opened/closed.
Vehicle Interactions - Some things that many admin menus don't do well are vehicles, this new admin menu treats vehicles as first class citizens, allowing for the same level of interaction as with players. Admins are able to completely stop a vehicle in its tracks for VDM scenarios, or completely remove a vehicle from the world if desired.
Player Interactions
Remove Weapons - Admins can remove a players weapons without removing the remainder of their gear - this can be used to stop RDM scenarios or to remove a person from a combat scenario.
Remove Gear - Admins can completely wipe a players ArmA inventory, including clothes and other gear.
Freeze Player - Comes with two modes; freeze player completely (no input) or freeze player movement only.
Revive - Reviving a single unit, this allows for people to be brought back up after an RDM situation.
12AM Hotfixes
ESP markers were not showing due to a camera configuration issue - this has been resolved.
A few weeks ago we reworked the vehicle cleanup script, this time we have reworked the item / generic cleanup script. It has been completely rewritten and items will have at least a two minute lifespan when dropped on the ground, with a maximum of 4 minutes. This allows you to exchange items without worry of them instantly de-spawning. On the other hand, wrecks and other items will be cleaned up more efficiently.
A new ATC announcement system - UNMC and Police can send alerts to all helicopters telling them to land or do other actions. These messages are in roleplay and you are allowed to respond to the sender of the message. Please note that everyone in an air vehicle receives these messages, so please read the message and ensure that it is addressed to you before taking action.
Y-32 Xi'an - New UNMC air vehicle - Credit to BIS for the skin (default ArmA III skin)
When being downed, you will now be able to talk to the medic and will be able to hear players within your vicinity.
Player executions - You are able to kill downed players by shooting them with any handgun weapon. Since you are able to talk to them while they are downed, you will most likely want to talk to them before executing them.
Dragging downed players - Downed players can be dragged by any of the white-listed factions, or people who have bought a stretcher from any hospital.
Blood Bags - Reset the death timer of a player by giving them a blood transfusion. We will be adding more to this system very soon in order to create a 'blood economy' of sorts.
The new death timer lasts 15 minutes, and you can respawn after being downed for 3 minutes.
This new system is extremely lightweight in terms of network usage.
Your killers information is shown in the bottom corner of the death screen, including weapon information as well as distance the shot come from. This also includes a player PID for assisting in reports / compensation requests.
Changed:
Taser now uses a ragdoll rather than the old static animation.
An undercover HQ is selected randomly from houses on the map, and the infostand and vehicle spawn is placed automatically on the nearest road.
Only undercover permit holders can see these houses on the map.
There are strict police rules around the usage of undercover gear.
Police can pull out undercover cars with every civilian color.
Police can use civilian clothing from their clothing shop as long as they have the permit.
Police can set a custom name to appear while they are undercover.
Other police officers can see that an officer is undercover as well as their officer name, yet any civilian or NHS observers will see the player as a normal civilian with their undercover name.
[*]UNMC Textures - Thanks to @Scott1sh for the following textures
[*]UNMC and Rebel Imports License owners (Dodgy Dave's) can search player's Y-Menu items, as well as interact with restrained players inventory (taking weapons, taking vest, etc). The latter is also available to police too.
[*]NHS Textures
NHS M900 - Credit to Stephen Allen and @CSI Xsum for tweaks and file size reduction.
NHS MB-4WD - Credit to Gurlanin for this skin.
NHS Air Rescue pilot uniform, thanks to Gurlanin for this.
Fixed:
After being downed, you will now correctly be added to the correct chat channels again.
Issue where global chat may show in some circumstances (please report if it happens again, thanks!)
Changed:
Backend tweaks
Police ranks will only show while police are in their clothing.
Effective immediately, the old gang system will be deactivated.
You can edit the ranks of offline and online players (and remove them) as if they were online in the old system.
Four types of group can be created:
Gang - Rebel groups / Street gangs
Mafia - More organized / drug related crime
Businesses - Fill this one in yourself.
Bounty Hunter Group - A group for bounty hunters to collaborate together.
Picking the correct group type is important, since we plan to add features that are restricted to each group in the future (think shops for Businesses, etc)
[*]You can ally with other groups in order to see each other's map markers (hexagon sharing is coming soon) - This is a one way action, so both groups will need to ally with each other in order to get a mutual effect, your group members are shown in the normal group colours, and allies are shown in teal.
[*]Your group name is now shown in the side chat next to your name.
[*]You can have multiple level four members within your gang, meaning that (as long as you trust them with full access) you can share leadership equally (yet do note, a level 4 can demote another level four, or terminate the gang).
[*]Bounty hunter tazers now perform at the same speed as the normal police tazer.
The size of the basket in shops is now 40 instead of 20 for even faster re-arming
Bounty Hunters have been removed, the license will be automatically compensated should you have owned one. This extends to the groups created under the heading of bounty hunters, these are now businesses
The NCA now show a green Hexagon
UAV Terminals for police now show a hexagon as well as the GPS
Speed Cameras model now in place (Still wont catch any of you acting like Steve Mcqueen until we install reels of tape into the back of them) @SI Joseph Tadworth
