As unfortunate and annoying as it is to be the victim of a rule breaker or troll, the official answer is no. Two wrongs don't make a right. Record and report.  If you do end up dying, you can fill out a compensation request assuming you can provide evidence.

You don't get banned for being stupid or hot headed in general. There was an incident which lead to your ban. Please explain this in detail so we at least know you understand why you were banned.
