Whilst the rest of your post is very good, I just cannot find myself agreeing with this at all. I've never heard a higher up order this and I always try to get people back up. Medics are told to revive officers first, then rebels. If you have solid evidence of officers denying medics to revive rebels, please forward it to us as I find that very poor behaviour.

his discussion is one of those things where everything works both ways. The game has definitely changed compared to a year ago and sometimes does seem more focused towards combat.
(Eventhough I had some fantastic RP the entire evening last night)
As a member of the police I am, of course, biased, but we have had some very combat oriented gangs in the past. I feel that my take on the police has certainly changed compared to when I joined. To be brutally honest, I'm sometimes scared to RP. Most of the time I try, it almost always ends in a gunfight or an attempt to be taken hostage (which is only fun when you meet some good guys that don't leave you facing a wall for the next hour). And this doesn't have to be the original guy you RP with, but stand in one place too long and some gang will pass by and get involved.
A few examples why RP is hard:
- Pull someone over for not having their lights on: insta-chase, run into ambush --> firefight
- Pull someone over for a small bounty (vehicle theft): chase, ambush, firefight
- Pull someone over for any bounty: Rebel: "No sir, it's not my vehicle, it's my friends." Trying to RP from here, usually leads to letting them go, as anything else results in: "OMGWTF! Metagame, powergame, liaison room now!"
I honestly think there are problems on both sides, we should all lighten up a bit and be OK with losing stuff, rather than instantly joining the liaison room.
Besides that I think a lot of trust has been lost between both sides. Too often do officers carry non-lethal by default and insta-restrain people for no reason. This puts rebels on edge, making them resort to aggression sooner, thus making the police take a more aggressive stance as well. In other words, we've entered a vicious circle that's hard to break.
I, for one, will continue to carry my rubber bullet gun and will try to be less on edge and RP more. As a result I hope to run into someone someday that actually drives his own vehicle and didn't kill in self defense, but rather drunkenly pushed someone down the stairs or something. That being said, I'm also a police officer, so I will crush your truck full of drugs and take away your hunting rifle.
Thanks for a good answer!
I agree to most of what you say. And yeah, it's definitly problems on both sides.
When it comes to evidence for not reviving, I have at least 1 SGT that can back up one instance when it was one of the higher rankings in the force that said it.
I also have medics that have sent me a msg, "sorry orders not to revive."
Ill see what I still have recorded.
And that a trust is broken is clear. But I mean, when can a trust be built again, when so many people dont value their words.
They agree ingame with one party, then agree something else on TS with their members there. Making the part who sticks to his RP suffer in any situation.
This is not only towards police, but a lot of rebels as well.
But when police uses negotiations to set up and prepare to take out everyone. And their goal with the "negotiation" is basicly just stalling rebels from taking position, and being hostile. So they can use that time to set up ambushes and snipers. That will never ever create any type of trust again.
I usually pick the shortest straw in those situations. When I trust the negotiator I talk to. And telling my members to stop when they are wanted for small fees, telling them to at least try to RP even how mad they are for the last situation they had.
The point im trying to reach somewere in here is.
We used to live together on the same island, being in different factions, and doing different work. But when a officer was out-manned by a rebel group. He accepted that and knew if he/her surrender it will create RP. He took time to RP with them, and show them that next time, show some trust and we can always RP. And the other way around.
That goes both ways. Rebels came to police and talked, without getting "hands up hands up" "no reply" *tazed* *restrained*
I could run up to the police with my gun on the back, and inform them as a spokesman, "Gang name" is now in the area, we will not come in the way of your work if you dont come in our way. You were able to talk, even if you had a rifle on your back. Couse most of the people valued their life. This didnt mean they not tried to interfare. But at least you were able to talk, and try!
If I do this now, I get restrained, and it turns to a fight 90%.
I dont know if it's the feeling of force/power something that have went to some people's head that have broken the trust. (on both sides)
But it's about time for all factions to work hard to gain that trust again.
And at the end, when is the police gonna stop calling me a terrorist ? ^^
Im a rebel/freedom figher, who fights for the civilians on the island. I fight against the UK laws and their employees. Not the people living on my land.
