Brief Summary:
To explain our idea very simply we wish to turn the Pink Cage Motel into a functioning business with rooms available to be rented out for up to a week at a time that offer some storage and a wardrobe.
Sal Marlowe and his family have taken ownership of Pink Cage Motel area for a while now and we have actively been working towards turning the area into a functioning business, currently we rent the motel out as 'office space' for small business owners so that people can have a room to meet clients, have group meetings, completely work out of like law firms and generally just do whatever other business they wish at an established location instead of awkwardly meeting by a gas station or somewhere less private. The motel seems to have a very negative past being controlled purely by criminal groups and generally being very abandoned and unused which we feel is a massive shame as its a great location in the city.
There is a clear issue regarding housing in the city and we feel this would be extremely beneficial to everyone both old and new if we would be able to establish an actual motel/hotel business renting out rooms on a weekly basis this means every week opens new opportunities for someone to get a place rather than the struggles a lot of people have finding proper housing due to the longer time between rent payments and houses freeing up.
Now we completely understand this is something very big to request and so we have made sure to really push and do our best to show what could be if we were given the amazing opportunity to make this idea a reality. Using the new pictures that have recently been added I created physical personal motel employee id cards for all of our employees that i feel just really improve the professionalism of a business compared to a regular /me.
On top of this utilizing the pictures we created room keys we give to each of our guests staying at our motel so they have a proof of purchasing and owning the room, these keycards have a QR code on them you can scan that takes you to a page outlining which rooms are available, which room you own and a small floor plan so you can understand which number is which door. Without having keys to the property we felt this was the best way we could operate, the Marlowe family have a handful of security that work to keep those renting out the motel safe and also watch out for any potential threats or robbers wishing to cause issues on the property.
While I understand some people may be quick to jump to the conclusion we are simply in it for the money I can assure you that is not the case! I create all the graphics and advertisements and ids we use myself and its something I love doing, I love creating a great rp experience for people and I feel by giving us a chance to run this business we could open up soo many possibilities for rp on both ends of life in the city Legal & Illegal. As I said earlier on in this post the motel is a very abandoned unused area and its a massive shame as its in such a great spot in the city! I feel by having us there we are able to turn that location into a social area for people to hang around at, I've come to find way too often the most social areas are just groups and groups of people stood around gas stations unless there's an event going on at a location while we would be able to offer somewhere new and unique where people can spend their time, relax and socialise.
We have begun holding weekly events at the motel open to everyone for free and we have many more planned instead of just parties! Our first event held featured Music, free drinks and food, a private doctor for any injuries, hayes auto repairing vehicles and just a generally welcoming atmosphere for people to come and enjoy themselves that we paid for completely out of our pockets, we had an unbelievable turnout and im extremely happy with how it went! In the future were going to be looking into raffles, boxing matches, various contests ranging from races to graphics design and photography and much more!
While I could try to preach on and on about our idea but I think its about time to stop my rambling and get into the question I'm sure a few of you are thinking while reading through this.
Speaking to people around the city and between our own group we compiled just a few of the benefits we feel having a business of this kind could bring to the server.
-It adds more housing to the city but on a temporary basis meaning houses don't become obsolete or any less useful it just simply opens up more affordable temporary housing for players and gives them a place they can call their own for a week.
-Turns a derelict pretty abandoned location into a populated area for rp and events that ISNT a gas station
-We noticed around a year ago the suggestion for a Hotel was accepted and I think we can offer an alternative with this motel that isn't automated (interacting with your alt key) and instead is ran by players improving the rp and experience people have in the city.
-Adds a bunch of new possibilities for both legal and illegal people in regards to temporary housing and storage
-creates a whole new style of rp selling motel rooms and managing the place, we intend to run it properly and as such we have security ect and policies for the property regarding bringing weapons onto the premises ect even our security guards have protocols for how they deal with situations.
-More interesting and rp focused than just walking up to a door and buying it holding alt. Also offers more affordable temporary accomodation for those who want/need it especially newer players
-By being in a fairly central area for the city it gives us the chance to help newer players (which we actively try to do currently) by giving a proper intro to the server explaining and showing them the various directions they can go job wise and in general how they can start out rather than that person ending up straight under a gangs wing telling them to buy and sell drugs or pulling them straight into crime, a continuous dead beat cycle
-Extra housing is a huge plus, people cant find it during the middle of the month. And having a continuously monitored housing arrangement (if they don't pay, are known to be very inactive or are constantly causing issues they can be evicted) allows proper circulation for people who join for a few days then disappear and leaves room for those who are wanting to stick around on the server.
Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?
While yes I believe it changes some balancing on the server I cant see it affecting for example the demand for houses, the prices of any items drastically or at all. (If anyone does have anything they think it might affect please do bring it up as were constantly wanting to work on and improve this idea! All criticism is welcome )
Thank you for taking the time to read through our suggestion! I look forward to seeing your opinions on our idea and any feedback or possible critique you may have!
