I as a police officer do believe in following the law but rewarding good role play and behavior. If I'm up against a group of rebels and no see the opportunities to have a peaceful resolution I take them.

Also @SPC LONG BEARDBy rulebook I meant, the laws ect, Not server rules. What I was pointing out is if I've got a bounty and I get stopped by police and try to rp it out. I tend to get "UNLESS YOU HAVE ID FOR THIS CAR IT WILL BE SCRAPPED". Sometimes it feels like no matter what I try to RP the decision was made before I even pulled over..
Yeah I see where you are coming from ese.

It's one of these vicious circle things. From a cop perspective, there are folks who go around regularly killing / robbing civs & cops and doing all sorts of illegal shit who assume they'll get away with it simply by giving a false name.  At the end of the day, the cops are there to RP law enforcement. I've a general attitude that in roleplay, actions should have consequences otherwise what's the point?  If someone wan'ts to RP a criminal (which is player choice btw) then they got to accept that the cops are out there to try and get them. Surely that's part of the fun of playing crim?

Really, it comes down to the crime/s they're wanted for. The greater the crime, the harder it's going to be to roleplay out of it. The same goes if they've got multiple warrants out on them. There's crimes that are easily roleplayed out of, but others like cop killing / murder that are much more difficult, and rightly so.

Criminals with warrants should be trying their best to avoid the cops, but most don't and happily drive their own 'wanted' vehicles along main roads, with illegal weapons on them, then get salty when they're stopped and meet an officer who's RP'ing his job.
