Prison Time-Rework (round 2) - Serve prison time in person

@Dimaaaa i like this, but if this is a possibility then surely police will have to shorten sentences? 10k months ect is far to long for someone to be in prison active. especially with the minimal roleplay that is involved in prison, g6 dont just make prison instantly better, some stuff like radios, more activities, and more cooking/searching items added... then yes go ahead +1

If this was implemented last year when suggested we wouldnt even be in the spot where 10k 15k or even 40k sentences are a thing so no. Those sentences would not stand except under very veryyy rare circumstances i would imagine. 

Absolutely, though I must admit I did think it would be cool that before "lifing" someone, obviously only in extreme examples, they get an extremely long sentence where they're presence missing from the gang would be noticeable, but they could still provide roleplay from the prison but again this is something that would be locked behind weeks of CID investigation and court roleplay before it would even be considered.

Unfortunately, I just can't agree with this. The amount of times I have done little things like rob a store with a hostage (about a 15 minute scene)

And I've gotten 720 months is irritating. I am literally unable to play the server for 12 hours it's like I have been banned. If anything I feel like it is a little too severe, and if you don't want people logging off I get it but maybe decrease the time by a lot of you can't sleep it off

On serious note, this would help the city massively in my opinion, of course sentences would need to be adjusted etc etc, but it would at least make me think twice about what crime i was committing and what sort of escape plan I would use, Sure we would have the issue of people then AFK in prison, but this would in turn incentivise G6 to make the stay in prison fun and provide good RP for their time spent,

same goes for inmates, they would also have yard beef, get their strength and stam up and opens up the RP opportunities massively, things like conjugal visits, prison breaks, mass riots etc a thing!

When i first joined the city over a year ago, G6 was my first job and the amount of hours spent inside that prison were insane, so much fun RP was had and i barely made a trip into the city unless it was to go pick up another prisoner, I truly cant see an issue with this but obviously (police and G6) would need to do their part in order to make peoples sentences less boring and mundane, wiping tables and picking fruit should also still decrease sentences or maybe add some more jobs to help reduce their time such as laundry, collecting envelopes or parcels, maybe even getting some sport activities out in the yard for people to play each other with!

Will be honest would actually like it this way the only 2 issues i can see are how would it it be the "Sweet spot" for senteces if this was to be implemented and also Cops in general  maybe ending up on Ticketing people more for smaller offenses (Ex: Having a knife in public but never using it or pulling it out)  instead of trowing someone to prison.

Personaly i would say max sentence should be reduced from 720 to about 240 or 300 including the fact you can reduce it by doing prison work.

The suggestion very clearly states that prison sentences would need to be reduced if this was introduced. For example, robbery + hostage taking + having a weapon or whatever would become 120 months instead (2 hours) for example.

To this day it still seems crazy to me when you get someone in the cells that would rather jail time than a fine, but it’s usually because they just log onto another character or go play something else for a few hours instead of any actual punishment for their characters actions.

Honestly please go read the suggestion in full - I completely agree with what you are saying, but the original suggestion says it already

Just forget this post was more of banter of me saying i don't care if you agree or not with me most of the times (Wasnt talking about this one thread in specific) and that this suggestion only works if both police and the Max sentence get dealt with accordingly (I know its said in the suggestion just saying it needs to be implemented correctly).

I also believe that this would possible create some interesting RP when the cop is to arrest the suspect and he comes up with a story totally interesting in justifiying his actions. Of course the police would need possible to ajust the mindset and be open minded to excuses, but it could turn out into something very interesting.

Saturday night i had an incident as a solicitor with 2 police officers in the cells. I was with them for 90 minutes letting them go through all of the charges and really giving them their dues. At the end of it I expected them to drop one or two of the charges they had levied against my client because we provided 90 minutes of entertainment and rp with them and some pretty reasonable explanations for a few of the minor charges that my client had incurred at the time of his arrest. 

Sadly the two individuals dismissed almost everything we said and continued to proceed with ALL of the charges they had originally intended to prosecute on. They even went as far as to tell me that "a Judge would absolutely agree with us". I was baffled by their assertion on this, as if they had a judge on speed dial. I explained to them that the 90 odd minutes we had spent in the cells ought to also AT LEAST be taken in to account when processing the individual as he had given them 90 minutes of his time (the valuable element here) to allow them to have their fun but until I argued the toss this had not even been considered by either of them. I could hear the more sensible one of the two actually come to this conclusion mid sentence. I was hoping to be able to write up a recommendation for them on the recommend an RPer forum as up till this point theyd done a decent job but the point blank refusal to entertain anything we had said just annoyed me considering that both my client and I had given up our time to their benefit. I decided against it when they dismissed all of our efforts. 

The reason i write this in this thread is to highlight the issue to others. If this rule is enacted then sentences are ALMOST CERTAINLY going to need to be reviewed by either a senior Police officer (at least) or a Judge. This could create some good RP but it also could create a monumental blockage in the system for the Judiciary, this would be come a full time job for some people. You would almost need a duty Judge in the PD to accept sentencing. 

Dont get me wrong I am happy to take a share of this but it would potentially mean that the accused would need to come to Court to get sentenced before going to prison - complete with their lawyer and police escort. 

I am happy to pitch in with it but it would create a LOT of work for various people to ensure the transparency of the system for all. Nobody wants their time taken away when they could be RPing just to stop and deal with some bureaucracy. 

As a criminal I am happy to serve all of my online time in prison - i need to caveat this and make sure it is clear as day. 

As a member of the Judiciary/Lawyer I am also happy to take a turn at the processing but I feel that if this is implemented then I would like to discuss further how the process works and ensure that it is fair and just for all concerned.

This makes perfect sense, thats how it should be, Makes for more roleplay for prisoners and G6, makes police choose to fine more than sentence or sentence if they think its really required, makes crims value that what they did is a crime and is met with consequence

Someone mentioned their fear about people not surrendering more than now, who said surrendering and paperwork in PD cells is fun anyways, its a game and we are meant to have fun that way. With this, we will find the balance between people fearing to do a certain crime, and the will to escape, this suggestion makes the RP better in all ways.

Choosing the punishment should be considered now, how officers choose to fine or sentence should matter, depending on the severity & repetitivity (this aint even a word or i just cant find the spelling for it, its how many times they repeat an offence)(FOUND IT, REPETITION I THINK lol)

And the amount of RP opportunity for G6 is insane. You even can implement a prison director, that has to solve personal problems, interacts with police etc etc. Just think about the TV series Prison Break.
