New headshot mechanics

The headshot mechanic now is totally unrealistic.  Nobody can take 7 pistol shots to the head and survive.  Imo a headshot should be an instant kill.  It is terribly unimmersive .

Havent even experienced it yet but if thats the case tf?
If i am not mistaken i think headshots got completely removed in general from every gun but correct me if i am mistaken

Out of curiosity, was this addition to prevent the Car / Rocket league meta or is it to make pistols less powerful in general just so people know what way to suggest a change instead of asking for it to be reverted completely. (asking devs)

If this is the case its just gonna increase the Car meta Imo. As people aren't gonna be on their feet shooting at someone for 5 seconds while the victim can whip out a melee and knock you out before they are down from the shots.

Either they just have a thick skull or no brain. However, haven't experienced it yet, however, seems quite unlikely.

How it is right now is basically Body damage = Headshot damage basically headshots dont exist you hit same in body as in the Head

Yhe this is correct but just trying to figure out the reason behind the change

Imo pistol wise,

Heavy pistol = body damage the same, 2 headshots

Deagle = body damage the same, 1 headshot

Rev = body damage the same, 1 headshot

Marksman = body damage the same, 1 headshot

All other pistols = same body damage, 3 headshots

Can finally create my terminator character i've been wanting to make, now that I can take about 12 shots with an m19

Hoping to add some transparency to this.

We made the change as a development team to help better balance the weapons. Before, the pistols were the go to one stop shop for criminals due to them being overpowered by nature. The route we have currently decided to go down is change something called the damage multiplier on each of the weapons (there is another method to edit these weapons, but it is incredibly tedious and time consuming). Primarily on this version we have focused on decreasing nearly all pistols (by varying amounts, most expensive the least, cheapest the most), and some larger weapons to make them slightly better.

When discussing the point of "sponging" we came to the conclusion that "in terms of 'things that are not fully real', in our world, this is barely a surprise. Given how far we can jump, how fast we can survive crashes, how many times a day we can be unconscious and recover without even a scratch... it's just another magical factor of Los Hogwarts". We are currently looking into other mitigating factors such as ammo capacities, and ammo cost.

We are reviewing this change constantly and looking for constructive feedback. General complaints, Reeee, and Bad Taste Jokes aren't constructive and do not help us make changes for the better. We are also looking at additional changes to make this inline with the rest of the server such as inventory changes, but these are still being discussed internally.

As a development team we are here to try and make the experience as enjoyable for the mass of the player base hence why we try to listen to and act upon feedback where possible, although we need time and constructive comments to work with in order to mould the server into what the community, development and management team want to see

I hope this helps shine some light on the recent changes and reinforces that we, as a development team, as always looking out for the best of the server and are constantly listening to feedback from the player base.

I think, as people have been suggested before. Forcing first person in vehicles (like you got in trucks). Or add a massive inaccuracy effect when shooting from a vehicle might be a alternative solution to damage nerfs.

I have had multiple situations where I have to shoot someone in the head 8, yes 8 times for them to get knocked out EDIT: with lower caliber pistols. I personally feel this is very awkward as the person just has to stand still until I have let of a entire magazine in his head.

I also feel it makes the whole NVL situations abit weird, when really if someone pulled a gun on someone with a knife, that person wont really need to fear for their life because they can easily tank shots and melee you

That would be a breach of NVL/Powergaming tho. Ive made a ticket about this a while back regarding Hunting Rifles. In reality they are 308. (peas ingame) So you should treat it as it was a deadly weapon when pointed at you.

Was there a problem with Pistols being the one-stop shop for criminals, isn't it supposed to be that ? i mean i wouldn't want to see 300 people going around with shotguns and bigger guns i think pistols are meant to be the most common guns in the server (out of all the guns i mean, not saying they should be common but more common than the other guns) as it stands i think everyone can agree that out of all the guns pistols are supposed to be the most common out of the guns category this change imo is just gonna have the opposite effect (shotguns , SMG's  are gonna be the new "meta").

If this was to change certain "metas" that are currently going on i have no clue but the so-called Rocket league "meta" that has been happening is just gonna be more prevalent with this change and i think most people in the server don't really want that.

I see the intention is to get bigger guns maybe being circulated more or maybe used more ? but was it something that was needed changing with nerfs ? i don't think so if anything maybe buff the more expensive guns to make them more appealing that way it still looks realistic and it doesn't make everyone that uses a gun look dumb by using one.

I barely use a gun unless its a gang war or a random baldy going around VDMing or saying stupid shit to provoke people to the point of having to do something about it as it stands those baldys are the ones that take an advantage from this considering police will be able to respond fast to them being shot since 8 shots have to be fired for them to die and the possibility of killing them while they are driving or running around is almost impossible now not to mention if its 1 on 1 in the middle of the street even from far away the probability of the person using the knife winning the fight is huge now.

TLDR pistols are useless  to the point where even the hunting rifle might be more worth using.

Now, speaking of an actual suggestion to either fix the "meta" or change it without nerfing everything to the ground (even though I don't really know in general why this damage nerfs was done to begin with).

1---> Make first person in cars obligatory when pointing a gun.

2---> What Raj said (but like you said this seems unlikely since it will be time-consuming according to what i understood from your comment)

3---> Now this one don't know if people are gonna agree on but make so certain pistols can't be used inside a car, mostly the cheaper pistols bellow the heavy pistol price tag (but can be used on motobikes still)

4---> Reduce the damage of Pistols when used inside a car (wihtout changing it while on motobikes).

5---> Just remove the damage nerf and buff the more expensive guns that are less bought according to what the groups that make those guns sell in smaller amounts due to less demand.

I 100% agree with the damage multiplier on weapons and it should definatly be eg. 5 or 6 bodyshots with a pistol as opposed to 1 or 2 with a shotgun.  But a headshot is a headshot and it is the smallest and most difficult part to hit.  No matter the situation if a bullet goes into someones brain, it should instant kill them!

its not pistols that need changing its their effectiveness when used in a vehicle that needs changing imo, when on foot the bigger guns outshine pistols anyways but many of the bigger guns cant be used in cars unlike pistols so as suggested make shooting from a vehicle much harder to do

Not exactly, we dont want every Tom, Dick and Harry running around with a pistol as they are amazing and remove the need for the larger weapons (Due to it always being a one shot headshot and a majority of people using Crosshair X 🤮.

body damage the same
Just to check, are you saying the same as it was before or the same as it is now

I appreciate the feedback that everyone is providing here and it is very useful. We, as a development team, will take a look at the options presented and see what is possible to make the experience more enjoyable. I will leave this open just so people can continue to add views and suggestions, so long as they stay constructive and it doesn't turn into update/dev bashing. Thanks everyone.
