You don't seem to get it. You have elected them by voting them in to you government. They then pick who of them, the elected officials, who will be part of the council. They have been elected.
Please explain to me how they are fictious? Do you imagine you will be able to trade with the European Union under the same terms? No, you will have to negotiate a new deal. And the European Union is the closest major trader you have. And, if you don't mind, can you show me some statistics or an objective study that shows the EU trading is stagnating? From what I have seen, the EU trade has gone better every year. Oh, and also some factual evidence that half the people visiting Britain is not from the EU? And even if it were so, loosing half your tourism would be pretty bad.
I am not saying you won't be able to travel, but it will be harder for you. And you will have to get a work visa everytime you are going to work in another country. So I imagine that will make things a little harder don't you?
EDIT: Sorry, I realized I sounded a little harsh in the opening there but I mean truly no offense, and I love debating. It's just that it is 28 degrees here and Im slowly melting away.
Just want to add a quick point to what you said there Brat before I waffle on! ...I have never voted for a Junker (only name I know!) and I am not sure how I would vote for someone else.... I disagree that MEP's should make that decision for me.
Anyway last thing ill say on this! Either way our opinions are not going to be swayed I know my isn't... here is some more of my personal views.
I am certain if we leave we can strike deals a lot faster, The EU has a lot to loose from us leaving than they do us staying... I cannot see France/Germany imposing tariffs on selling/buying goods to the UK when the majority of cars on the road here are French and German.
I personally work for a German company based in Germany, If for example I cannot get a work visa then guess what! I will find a UK based company to work for, The UK has never really integrated with Europe... most of us do not consider our self's even European but English/British/Scottish and Welsh.
The polls show the country is pretty much split down the middle over this issue and its not just the UK... I do believe Italy & France are the same.
The EU is running out of time, If there is not a Brexit I am pretty sure it will split in another form a few years down the line, and there is nothing that I or you can do about that, I think the UK will be in a better position leaving first than going down with that sinking ship.
I believe the EU has taken away part of my right to democracy, I have disliked the scaremongering of Cameron & Osborne especially... and Jeremy Corbyn seems to be just on the remain side not to loose his position, Its clear from what he is saying its like he hasn't made his mind up... and I wouldn't be surprised if he secretly votes leave today.
I think we are rolling the dice if we stay in and not if we leave.... People say the leave campaign has not answered questions... but will they really be the ones deciding decisions if we leave... no the entire parliament will be! So its a shame no one from the remain camp has gave a honest opinion of what they would do if we leave, Its clear we cannot do anything if we remain, Mr Cameron and his negotiation skills failed that in February... If he got a better deal I might have voted remain.
Todays decision is crucial to our country, Really think about it before voting.
