that's fine - it'll be the motherboard sound card will be the device. It's just to test the mic is working and not faulty, or the dongle isnt faulty.

i'd edited my post above - can you detach the mic on yours and check if the mic works on it's own if it has a 3.5mm jack?

Ok well if the volume is maxed on the dongle, and its not muted and is cutting out there then it sounds like the dongle is at fault here.

Got a second computer you can plug the headet into via the dongle, set it up fresh and see if it works properly? like a laptop or something?
