But what if Sugar Exports or the Sweetshop paid more than Willy Wanka? Have you checked lately?TIP TO ANYONE DOING SUGAR.
You can sell it at the chocolate factory, you don't need to go all the way to sugar exports
God damn it, willy wanka is a cheapskate. Might need to test my new pistol on him :-oBut what if Sugar Exports or the Sweetshop paid more than Willy Wanka? Have you checked lately?
So because of my holiday, I have not been able to play on Tanoa from the beginning. Many updates later, I am concerned that people may wrongly still have the view that Tanoa Life is too grindy.
If you've not looked for a while, and were turned off by your first night's experience, please try it again.
So come and help us to help you, and make all of Roleplay UK an even better place. Give Tanoa some love, and take a holiday in the jungle for a while. We think you'll enjoy it, and even if you don't, you'll go home with a tan...
- We've made it a lot more 'sandboxy' than before, though there is still plenty to do to earn cash to buy things.
- The economy prices are still 'real-world'-ish, but you earn a lot more.
- The XP system is more generous, and the locked items unlock a lot faster.
- A rescue option for the hobos who got boned and lost all their starting cash - just ask any Admin about the Welfare Package, and get your money topped back up.
- The town and city spawns unlock a lot earlier - first to 'hobo town' Oumere, and then to Georgetown proper, at a much lower level than before.
- Vehicles carry much more than before; item weights have been changed and reward prices buffed majorly.
- Petrol stations are robbable (when 5 cops are on), all over the map. Easy money for the brave and smart.
- Police are paid much, much more per cycle, and earn XP for their duties - all of carry over to their civilian game.
- NPAS helicopter teams are working, as well as Armed Response and Crime Agency (the Drugbusters).
- Bank robberies are possible (when 10 cops are on) and there are 28 possible locations for the vault, amongst two tripwired buildings.
- Gangs are working and gang-ranks are preserved properly now.
- Buyable housing is in place, with a new-and-improved system that's better than Altis. Cheap houses come with risks (open windows, no doors!) but can still hold locked storage which is locked separately from the house doors.
- layer revive system will surprise and amuse you - and although reviving in combat is possible, it's risky. You'll certainly not be on your feet straightaway!
- Illegal activities now only incur XP penalties during the daylight - making the night-time a flurry of 'interesting activities'. The pros know when to gather, and when to run.
- Those pesky pickaxes work much more easily than on Altis! Windows-key operation at last! No more RSI!
- More animations... you can wave at people and say hi, instead of just stiffly saluting. You can direct people more easily... and you can even take a leak against a wall. Or a cop! Watch out for those public peeing fines though...
- Refuelling vehicles is better - no more flat-rate fees for a spoonful of gas. Pay for what you use, £1 a litre. And refuelling boats and aircraft is easier, thanks to our 25m long hoses.
- Bus driving missions pay better, and are profitable much more quickly. Loads of RP fun - and a uniform to look posh in.
- Weather that works... the mad Bohemian Tanoa pea-souper fog glitch is squashed, and we get a range of interesting and immersive weather ranging from bright sunshine, to rainstorms, hail, and the odd bit of low-level mist. Even rainbows, if conditions are right.
- Ambient environment effects are user-selectable, and beautiful if you have a rig that can run them. Experience the jungle sounds and wildlife, if you dare.
- Loads and loads of 'little fixes' - things that have been bugging us for ages on Altis, are being fixed first for Tanoa - sacks now can't be opened from miles away, burglary reports make sense, and announce the house, but not the burglar's name, key spamming fixes, body-glitching, and lots more.
- And this is just the beginning. Lots more is on the conveyor-belt - development has not stopped for more than a couple of hours ever since the 9th of July, and is ongoing. Altis will - eventually - share in the benefits we've developed for Tanoa... but we need your help to make sure they're top-notch, solid and worth pumping back to the 'mother-ship.
