Also if you want just practice, something for testing or just plainly getting used to all these things you can get a server from this site its very cheap and I sometimes use it for dummy servers  virmach.com

I have looked at this hoster and they seem very good for the prices and would be good for getting me started; at the minute I think I will go with that, but I will keep looking.

Btw do any of you think weebly is a good choice too? http://www.weebly.com

Took a quick look at weebly seems like more of a website creating tool. It wouldn't be very helpful if you want to customize your site and all the software/scripts on it.

No, don't use weebly if you want to make a website that isn't just a simple landing page. You are very restricted to what you can do, and if you want forums, it's a big no go.

Ok thanks for the info, I'm still looking at the virmach.com you said about, I'm guessing you can customize software/scripts on that?

Yes you can the vps will be yours and you will be able to install anything on it. Also, Windows servers are more expensive than Linux servers, but looking back to what you said in your earlier post you might not need a windows server so a Linux would be better

If you mean that if you would be able to access it. Then yes it will work fine but you might wanna get the premium support (+~3$) if you are going with virmach because since this is your first time running a server it will be good to practice getting things run and if you really cant seem to be able to make it work you can just contact the support team and they can just install anything or fix any server related problems
