VON quality issue?

Last few times I’ve connected, I’ve had really poor voice over network quality. I completely accept this could be a local issue but TeamSpeak, other games and indeed other Altis life servers are ok.

Just wondering if there are any know issues from the server side with VON?

Could be a few issues,

Could be due to high ping/packet loss. This can be checked by Right clicking your name > Going to Client Connection Info and looking at your ping and Packet Loss

It could also be your Mic or TS weird capture mode, that I also sometimes have issues with. You can check this by going to Tools > Options (Or ALT+P) > Capture. Then Click Begin Test to see if when you listen to your own voice it sounds bad. If it sounds bad then try to change the Capture mode to "Direct Sound" and try again. If it's still bad its an actual Mic issue either your mic is faulty or you don't have the drivers installed for it

Moved to questions and answers as this isn't a server issue

Thanks @Jaffa, I did check with an admin on TS where to post this before doing so and ‘report a bug’ was suggested.

Some great suggestions which I’ll try, thank you.

I doubt its any of the things that dexterr mentioned as this is an arma bug that sometimes happen on rpuk mission file and has nothing to do with your mic or ts  its less common nowadays than it was before, i remember a couple of possible fixes from back in the day when this was more common as it happened to me aswell:

  • Try connecting with a different arma 3 profile (incase your profile is really old make a new on some arma updates mess with them ocassionally ive had various issues with this such as voice being shit in-game, not seeing side chat on rpuk definetly somethignworth trying)
  • verify game cache (Maybe you are missing a file? who know try it)
  • Maybe even redownload the mission file
  • Make sure you microphone is set as default device as arma uses that
There was one more thing in arma voice settings but i forgot what its called and cant check either as im not home rn ill update the post later when i find out.

Hopefully that helps.
