Verified accounts use two form factor authentication. In short it makes staff accounts more secure. Important since we have admin powers.
Various people have tried to pretend to me admins in the past, The tick was really just meant for management/staff/devs but tadworth went crazy and gave it to investors.

I already answered this. Verified isn't to do with showing you are who you say you are. It's a system that uses an extra layer of security to prevent staff accounts being hacked and then used to unleash hell.
