No this is one saying what really boils my blood. it makes me sick to my teeth how much people say it in-game and out of game to threaten the opposite party.

Know before i start i was scared that this would cause drama, a forum war so please can we all respect each others opinions and act like adults instead of turning this into a bitch fest! - Thank you!

So the saying "Value you life" in my eyes saying it ingame should be a bannable offence it is basically threatening some one and for what? and in my eyes you could class it as breaking "RP".

I have been here for a while, i have played as rebel, civilian, NHS and Cop. And all parties a guilty for it. But it happens to much know a days its a "Scare tactic" and quite frankly ridiculous. So please think and remember its a GAME! a good GAME but still a GAME. If people valued there life they would not walk towards gunshots in the middle of kavala they would run  for there life, they would not walk around with illegal fire in the middle of the city they would be shot on sight. They would not walk up to cops and say fuck the po po because they would most likely be arrested and maybe sent to prison for abuse.  People need to remember its about Role Play and to have fun! not to be a complete mind my french "Tosser" so please just play the game and have bloody fun!

John... I do agree but IRL you could also say things like:

"Don't be stupid, value your live".

But I see where you are coming from.

Yes this does get said but I'm glad to say I'm hearing it less and less.

So if I tell you or a guy to do something or hes going to get shot, and hes hesitating and I say don't be stupid value your life?

There's not much else you can say.

the moment i hear "Value your life officer" to me that tells me that if this person/Gang doesn't "win" then 9 times out of 10 i'm going to be reported for not Valuing my life

it's pathetic and irritates me a ridiculous amount and just ruins any form of RP/gameplay and i usually log off shortly after whatever happens afterwards

thankfully i haven't heard it in the past few days since i started playing again and i hope not to

@meow i see your point of view and respect it. But it is being abused and used as a scare tactic making people uncomfortable in-game and as a mentor i have had people come to me scared to play due to it and worried of being reported, and this is new players and this is a horrible thing to see, does our community come across like that ? i really hope not and before it does we need to sort it out.

I don't think anyone should get scared, if im out numbered and I can't win a fight then I will value my life, but if there isn't a person valuing his life in that situation is that bad RP from them? maybe they should take it as a hint that they're not valuing their life, then nobody would have to say it.

but of course that will never happen, because half the people don't value their lives.

@meow Agreed, but if you don't think they are valuing their life speak to them outside of the game, not inside were it can affect there "RP"

Well in all fairness, if he follows my rules he won't die and he will be let go, but he try's to be superhero, and only ends him dropping like a sack of potato's.

If its a new guy, and I don't recognize I will leave him a message on TS with advice   saying should value your life on this server because people will see it as bad RP.  :cookiexmas:

If you / a group of people are robbing someone then you should remember this is just a game.

Try and make it enjoyable for all parties involved, I remember when I started off the rebel gangs roleplayed so well I generally enjoyed getting robbed by them.

As well as that, don't chop their vehicle. If you rob someone doing salt you have already taken an hours worth of work, is it really necessary to take their 500k HEMMT?

When keeping all this in mind the person you are robbing will be much less likely to try and stand up to you or run off. I know by experience that I will be much more likely to try and defend myself if I know the people robbing me are providing poor roleplay.

I know you get to hear that alot & that it is important as a whitelisted rebel to value your life. But there's many ways of valuing your life & it's all individual- how you act under certain circumstances, isn't it?

To protect the sheep you gotta catch the wolf, and it takes a wolf to catch a wolf

I don't think it'll do any good in making it a bannable offence reminding somebody of their families & to value their lives as it's part of the roleplay. We're all confined by rules & and we do our best playing by the rules. Tightening the noose won't do any good, I don't think..

Keep it up & hope to see ya'll out there

Much love

Maybe it'll work 8 times out of 10 to value your life as a hobo, but for the police its still a gamble. More than often the bandits will either throw the poor officer off a cliff/the docks or simply shoot him in the head once they're done. So valuing your life, as a officer, probably means taking every opportunity you get to escape cause you got a higher chance of winning on the lottery than getting out alive.

I feel the issue here is that it takes away from the immersion and as Johnjoeegan has said it is seen by a fair few of us to be abused and used as a scare tactic. So here are some points I like to go to. There was a time when a gang was surrounded at the Military compound by the Oil Trader / Processor (the one near Kavala...ish). Police had them fully surrounded and they had about 4 people, one of them fell from some stairs and died. Police quickly used this as a RP avenue and pleaded with the Rebels to stop and turn themselves in so that their friend could receive immediate Medical attention. They said No, he would rather die. If it was in a hail of gunfire, fair play, but falling from some stairs...seems like a pointless death to me...anyway, Police basically decided to wait them out and I believe in the end a firefight erupted, the Rebels died along with a good few Police. Now, the Roleplay side is ofcourse, you are Rebels, you have a cause you wish to die for, even if that cause is just watching the world burn and causing a bit of havoc.

Now, when Police get in situations, a Rebel will likely throw the "Value your life Officers" around. The problem with this is it is almost taking the Roleplay out of it. To the Officers involved, you are indirectly saying "Officer, if you try and fight this rather than surrender right now, I will see that as you not valuing your life and poor RP, and as a result you may receive a report". Now, you may think I'm taking the piss with that, but no, Officers believe you are indirectly threatening to report them hence why some Officers leave due to not being able to act how they want to under threat of being reported.

I understand Police are a whitelisted team and as a result have to display high quality Roleplay, but that doesn't mean they should always surrender to value their lives. Some may want to try fight their way out, but that Roleplay avenue is almost being cut out because of what is being said. I mean it's a fairly easy thing to Roleplay as well, for example. We had SI Walt and SI Bob who were chatting to a gentleman, they were kidnapped, and SI Walt had his penis cut off by their "lead negotiator". I think that may be a motivational tool for quite a few Officers, they'd rather die than get cut to pieces.

Anyway, I've not seen this used as much lately which is lovely. But I do like to hear the sound of my own voice so enjoy the crap I've written above.

I am completely surrounded by rebels, I have lost my only avenue of escape, I have seen my fellow officers and friends die in the field.. I have called for backup but unfortunately it is either not coming, or is taking too long. I believe in that case I would be valuing my life by fighting tooth and nail for it.. Anyone else?

I remember once 3 armed rebels gunned down a pcso and PC right in front of me during a firefight. I was the last left hiding behind cover. I was told to come out and value my life. The thing is, with 2 officers killed right in front of me I didn't trust the rebels to leave me alive under any circumstances so I fought for my life and for the 2 dead officers. I took 2 out but the last had flanked me and shot me from behind. Even though I lost I think I valued my life and regardless if I did or not I don't believe most real police officers would come out willingly after their friends had been shot before their eyes.

Not to go into full cop mode, but speaking from my own experiences. I was trained to fight tooth, nail, and to never surrender. The last time I even heard of a police officer being taken hostage in my State was years ago, and he did "value his life" only to end up in the truck of a car and shot in the head.

In fact it's in my department policy that you will never surrender your weapon or any police equipment including radios.

Granted it's a video game, but I really think the whole "Value your life" should work both ways. The other night me and a CSO were on Patrol and I saw a HEMMIT parked right at the drug dealer. As soon as I started walking up to the church I heard "Go Away!" and before I could even respond, two armed men inside decided to take a shot at me.

I took cover, and one of the armed men decides to rush right at an Officer armed with a fully automatic MXC. I took him out, and I offered his friend a chance to RP surrender, but sure enough that person rushes me, and I took him out as well. So two men decided to die just for a HEMMIT full of Marijuana.
