So it was not long ago I asked for suggestions on upgrades however due to my lack of cash I never got round to it. Now I have got some spare cash in my pocket I decided I'd take to the forums for some advice. I am looking to spend about 450 squids but I would be able to go over this amount if it is going to provide me a significant upgrade in terms of longevity or usability of the computer. Any suggestions I'm all ears.

My current build is this: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/LkVv6X

I'm not much of an AMD guy but it seems fine to me. Ryzen CPUs were having some issues with gaming but i dont know how well those have been ironed out yet.

Heres a video showing Arma on a 3570k/6600k/Ryzen 1700.

Some of the key stats to watch are Temps and of course FPS. then Ryzen 1700 is on the right, afaik the 1700 would be a beffier model than the 1600 so you can hopefully extrapolate from that.

I would recommend full pc water cooling its extremely cheap and easy to install by your self

step one : run the bath

step two : disconnect your computer

step three : submerge your computer in the bath which will be full by this time

at this point u will be done and will see significant changes to your computer

Thanks for the tip, i'll get the bath runing now!

So I have done a bit of messing around and was wondering what you think of this: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/7RmT7h

Also thanks for the feedback @Zeito.
Swap the mobo for a Z series chipset. B is more 'business' orientated. Z series will allow for overclocking. B will not, wasting the potential of that 7700k. Depending on how heavily you plan to game and overclock, you could possibly go to the I5 rather than the I7 to save you a hundred quid or so.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Zd4f4C £550, 100 quid to go get yourself an SSD/Towards a new GPU/Big bag of cans to drink with the lads.

@Zeito Thanks very much for the tips I now have everything except the motherboard and there is something for me to collect at the postal sorting office later which I assume is that so I may have it built tonight, Anyway i'll update you at a later date how it's all gone but till then thank you.

PS this is what I went with: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/tXCxm8

Dope AF. Good luck on the build. Ping me if you run into any bother.

Bit of an update shes built but showing no sign of life so I'm gonna have a sleep and have another look tomorrow as I'm too tired to piss about now. 🙂

So @Zeito im having a ethernet problem it is stating 'One or more network protocols are missing on this computer' any suggestions man?

Couple of things.

Go to Settings -> Network & Internet -> Ethernet  -> Change adapter options -> Right-click the one you are having issues with -> Properties -> Install... -> Protocol -> Install what is there

couple of cmd prompt things to try, run this as admin

netsh winsock reset

ipconfig /release (then /renew after)

windows key + r type "ncpa.cpl" should bring up network adapters, scroll down disable ivp 6. make sure in IPV4 that both options set to automatic. Disable adapter (can do through network and sharing) and then try again. @TCK James Blezard

Pretty much everything above. Make sure the correct drivers are installed for your network driver as well. Best to download them from the manufacurers website.

if you right click on your network adapter settings and click diagnose, it should go through everything and reset the adapter for you. Can you show a apicture of any messages or errors that come up?
