OP does have a point. I remember the same frustrations when trying to find out some OOC info on UNMC when I first joined the community.
I still don't know the history of the UNMC so I tend to think of them like this:
Altis is British overseas territory similar to Gibraltar. The UNMC don't particularly like the idea of being governed by the UK so have somehow (I don't know the details) managed to section off a small portion of the island in which they reside. Since the UK government doesn't recognize their authority or the lands they occupy, the UNCM hold on to these lands by force, hence the military style of their organisation. I assume they are in RP terms a credible fighting force capable of defending themselves against a full scale British invasion or it would have happened already, OR there is a political reason why it's not. Maybe UNMC can fill in the blanks here. Here, in my mind I tend to think of it like Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Relations between the UNMC and the crown are exceptionally fragile and an uneasy ceasefire exists. Both parties tolerate the others existence in the interests of peace but it often this ceasfire breaks due to misunderstandings or one side doing something considered to be in conflict with the ceasefire agreement.
What makes UNMC different from normal gangs 'in my opinion' is they are more focused on RP and take it seriously. They seem, from my own experience to be a well organised, good bunch of lads.

I did find that before. But their back story and what they actually do are two different things I am afraid, sometimes. Since this post I have learned quite a bit and they are organized, good rping, bunch of lads indeed. From what I can see though this broken main link they have is killing them (admins please help them) and apparently the "master plan" isn't known to all of their foot solders (taken from the Generals words not mine). Also from what I understand they where banished off the island and have only recently returned. This looks like a wonderful set of challenges I would love to help El Generale and the other generals with in the future, if they will have me. I want to emphasize that from the limited view I have it seems El Generale and the others have made great strides so well done.

The thing with us is our story is always evolving , our goals now weve been back on the island 8 months are not the same goals we had when we arrived , the island has gone through alot of changes since weve been back and things are not what we thought they are so weve had to steer our future plans in a different direction to those that we had previously planned
