Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Omiri Gray
Steam ID: 76561198182498534
Ban ID (just the numbers): 18860
Ban Reason: C2.3 - Combat Logging
Why do you think you were banned: Hello, hope all are doing well. I was banned for logging out of a scenario/gun fight, which I had thought had ended, therefore giving me the ability to leave the city, and log off for the night, which i was wrong.
Why should we unban you: Before this, I had never really experienced any sort of proper combat/war within rp, this being the first time for me, and being so early in the morning, I was ready to call it a night, especially after a discussion with all participants in QE, and thought this would be okay to do so, going off my original knowledge with ‘war rules’. After having time to review my actions, re-read the rules, and watch multiple videos on different war scenarios, i have now learnt that my original assumptions we’re wrong, and have now been taught and learnt all the different scenarios which come under ‘combat logging’, to assure i will never be in this situation again.

In the future, if there was ever to be an ‘emergency’ or any reason where i had to fly out within a scenario, i would ensure first to alert staff either in ooc, or create a ticket in the discord, and await confirmation that it was okay to do so. If I was ever in the exact situation I was in before, or any other time I am incapacitated, knowing I would not get picked up, I would ensure to always bleed out before logging. I know how important the combat log rule is, not just in this city, but near enough all cities including RP, to make sure both parties of the conflict are at the same advantage, and that there isn’t an ‘easy exit’ to rp. With this rule in place, the city can also assure that all rp is how it would be in real life, maximizing the quality of rp in the given scenario.

If i was to be given a second chance in the city, i would keep my head down, continue to build my capital by working, and on the side, continue to work on mine and my friends overarching goals within the city of creating high-standard rp events for those wanting to participate, and a space where they can be enjoyed by all.

As you can probably imagine, i have been desperate to get my newly-learnt knowledge across to you guys, to ensure that having gone over what mistake i committed, and learnt the correct way of preceding in a situation like i was in, this will never happen again, as i now know the ins and outs to the combat logging rule, also gaining the extensive knowledge when it comes to being within war.

Thank you for your time, and again, apologies for my mistake, you have my word you will never see me here again if given a second chance to prove myself, Will.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Hello there @w1ll.bailey , I hope you are well.

Please tell me, in detail, why logging out in this instance is classed as combat logging and what advantages you could have possibly gained from it, if you weren´t caught and banned.

Hello, hope all is well! :)

In my instance, this is classed as combat logging, as I had exited out of the city, having not respawned, therefore keeping me alive in the next session I log into. This type of situation classes as combat logging, as I had essentially forcefully put an end to any future scenarios that could have happened, regardless of the current situation I was in, as I hadn't yet fully bled out.
To avoid this type of ban again, the right thing to have done would have been waiting for the timer, and respawning before logging off, no matter the situation I am in, which I didn't do, therefore why I received my ban.

Combat logging can be used for many different reasons to avoid in-game consequences such as losing loot, or valuable items in pockets. In my scenario, if I hadn’t received this ban, I could have saved possible items such as guns having been in a war, and would be able to remember crucial scenarios leading up to me being incapacitated, which would have taken place before my death, which if i had respawned would have had to be forgotten. This would play a crucial role in any future encounters between the two sides, as I could use this against them, as I didn't bleed out. In this instance I was in within war, it also gives an unfair disadvantage to my opposition, where the ultimate aim of war is to go back and forth, until one side is ultimately out of power (e.g out of guns etc), which following my combat log, saved my progress until the next encounter between the two sides.

Thank you again for your time, I can assure you that what I have learnt whilst I have been banned, will avoid me ever being in this situation again, you can take my word.

Many thanks, Will.

Good morning @w1ll.bailey .

I see you do seem to understand the rule well enough to follow it. Your record is almost clean, apart from 1 kick and this ban, and I am willing to give you a chance.

Your inventory will be wiped and you will treat this as a death and abide by NLR rules, once you log back onto the server. Any ban within the next 6 months will be permanent again and should you combat log again in the future, you will be met with a cooldown of at least 3 months.

Do not make me regret giving you this chance.

Unbanned.
