Why do you think you were banned: I was banned for ‘C1.7 Common Sense’ for an inappropriate GIF that was posted in groups. I don’t think there is any explanation that can be given to mitigate or lessen how poor the judgement was at that moment. I recognize what I did was completely against the server’s rules as well as disrespectful as a whole.
Why should we unban you: Saying it was a poor lapse in judgement isn’t sufficient. There are rules whether that is in game or in Groups, it applies at all times, and I’ve known that then, and I know that now. I posted it in response to a debate in groups and I never intended for it to be an attack towards any member of the community or make anyone uncomfortable. I stupidly thought it would be harmless and removed it the moment I realized it made others uncomfortable. I had a tendency back then to see gifs and share them without minding the context or what it contained. I would never try to make people in Groups feel unsafe but intention does not excuse the impact. I regret it and the impact it had on anyone.
Groups is meant to be a point of contact between others who are Whitelisted and not for arguments or immaturity. My actions were not aligned with what the nature of it is for. It added unnecessary work for the staff team and made a space that was meant to be positive, escalate into further arguments. It’s supposed to be a welcoming environment, and although it becomes the opposite of that frequently, I'm solely responsible for my own actions.
It’s been over half a year since I’ve been banned from the roleplay community and I miss the friends and roleplay I got to engage in. I know I’m not entitled to be a part of it, but I would greatly appreciate a second chance. I understand that my ban is fully warranted but I want to sincerely apologize and acknowledge the mistake I made. If staff allow for this ban to be lifted and for me to rejoin the community, I will avoid putting anyone in an uncomfortable situation, jokes or not. I can’t excuse it but I can promise to be mindful of how I engage in communications with people outside of roleplay and in roleplay.
