Reason given for your ban: Forcing or encouraging another member of the community to break a rule.

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: Over a month ago, I was banned because I was aware of another player ban evading and did not attempt to stop him or report him to a staff member.

Why should we unban you ?: I have had a month to reflect on my actions and realised that I should have acted differently. The person that was ban evading was obviously banned for a reason and him returning to the server put the quality of roleplay at risk. Instead of playing with him, I should have prevented him by either telling him not to ban evade, or reported him to a member of staff. At the time, I did not understand the severity of my actions and did not see it as "forcing or encouraging another member of the community to break a rule" because I did not tell him to ban evade at any point but now I have realised that I knew he was breaking a rule and failed to prevent it which is essentially "encouraging" him.

Simple question, why?

 
At the time,  we were a relatively small gang who were fighting gangs much bigger than us so we needed as many people as possible to help us. However, I have now realised that it was just ruining the roleplay experience for everyone. The rules are put in place to improve the quality of the server and if you break a rule, you are punished for it. With my friend ban evading, he wasn't really being punished which meant that there was a high chance that he would break more rules and ruin the server's quality. In all honesty, there is no excuse for breaking a rule so severe which could have negatively impacted the server. After being away from the server for a month, I have had more than enough time to reflect on my actions and understand how I should have done things differently.

It's not really even about punishment. It's more about respect. If you get barred from a pub, you don't put on a hat and a fake mustache and try to get back in. In fact, if you did and your friends knew about it, odds are that he would be barred too. I'm not looking for you to be reformed, or become a better person as a result of this. Just to understand why we aren't happy when people who are banned, come back in. They were banned for a reason. Thoughts?

 
Yes I definitely agree with everything that you have said and understand it all. The whole situation was quite immature and disrespectful to staff members who work very hard to make this server as good as it is. The ban evasion was egregious and I allowed it to happen which made me just as bad, if not worse. I have been through the rules a number of times to understand why each of them are in place and what they try to prevent and I have realised how me and my friend's actions could have impacted the server. I am truly regretful of the whole situation and completely understand where you are coming from.

 
Good, I'm glad you understand. I'll go ahead and unban you, but please be aware that if this happens again, there is no coming back.
