In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: It was due to a message I put in the OOC chat, I used the work "nonce"

Why should we unban you ?: I would just like to start by saying i was banned on the 28th of December. I am currently writing this unban request on the 31st. With these 2 days I have gone over the rules and recapped on what events can break certain rules.

Basically on the 28th another player was in the OOC chat complaining to staff about a person on the server who they said was 13 years old. With one of the messages saying "Staff i have a 13 year old here", i then followed up after this message and put the word "Nonce". This was a complete joke and was not meant to be taken to heart. I now understand how out of context this humour can be very dry and only appeal to certain people. I was not aware at the time this did in fact go against rule C1.2. I put this message for the sole reason to get some laughs and for it to be seen as a light hearted joke, I did not have the intensions of accusing anyone of anything in this nature.

Why i should be unbanned? Well recent me and a few friends within the city have been hosting some events within the car scene in the city by hosting underground races, we go by the name as Speed Hunters and we have good turn outs to these events in terms of numbers that show up and how consistent the races are held. I believe this can prove how serious i am about being apart of the city as setting up races and making posters for the events takes time both in the city and out. We also help other gangs and member host their own races by setting the races up for them and providing laptops and USB's to those that need them.

As stated above i have spent the time out of the city reflecting on the rules and i know now this type of humour should stick within friend groups and not be brought OOC as other people may take offence. Going forward from this i have taken this ban as a warning to watch what i say where i say it. I would be grateful if you could grant me a second chance to prove myself so i can show i am willing to fall under the rules and play the game how it should be played

(C1.2) Discrimination - Do not express discriminatory or otherwise offensive views. This is no place for racism, religious hatred, ageism, sexism, homophobia, gender or disability discrimination.

- Using discriminatory language or words that will offend or hurt a group of members if that being a racist word or a homophonic word etc. Roleplay.co.uk is not the place to express political or discriminatory views so there's no need to express these on the server

(C1.3) OOC Abuse - Swearing at someone outside of roleplay with malicious intent, will not be tolerated.

- Using offensive language in the OOC towards another member of the server with intent to upset them or hurt their feelings

If im honest, i was going to put G2.6 as what i said didnt offer any help at all what so ever,  you do see alot of messages being put in OOC that doesn't offer any help at all so i didnt think it would fall under this with the main rule breakage being C1.2 & C1.3

However with this being said rule (G2.6) OOC Help - OOC chat is for help only, extended OOC interactions are forbidden

- Messages being put in OOC chat should only offer support for players who are having Out Of Character issues such as computer problems, issues connecting to the server or head popping issues etc. With this being said nothing should be put in OOC to help someone with an issue they are having IC as this would be classed as Meta Gaming

Of course, as stated above me and a few friends run a group for the underground racers of the city, we host mini races/events where the winners earn cash prizes. Earning this cash takes a few hours running some passive jobs. I would like to keep the group alive and keep these events going

I've had a look over your ooc messages (Not to far back yet) but this isn't the first time you've misused ooc now is it, Nor the same comment. As this isn't the first time (However it is the first time you have been banned for it), How can we be sure you won't simply do the same again? The times I've found was back in March 2022 now yes it was a while back but starts to paint a picture does it not?

Is this not the first time? if I'm completely honest with you I don't remember the time back in march so I am unable to give any reasoning nor context to the situation. As you mentioned this was a while back, I have racked up a lot of hours in Roleplay.co.uk from the span of last year, something like 300ish hours. As you probably saw whilst checking my chat logs I rarely use OOC chat whilst within the city so staying away from it is not a challenge. As mentioned above this ban is the warning I needed. Its not the case of not simply saying it again, i will just leave OOC chat alone unless instructed to message there (i.e if im needed in a OOC situations etc)

It's not the first time no, The first time was 24/03/2022 whilst yes further back then the last time (When you received this ban). I've had a look and you have misused ooc a few times to be rude to other players. Some are small insults and one other time is the exact same as this one, However it appears to be more directed. I'll quote what you exactly said on this date "cos hes a no***". This is from the date I've provided.

I do understand this was a while back and I'm not exactly trying to work out what actually went on that date, However pointing out for reference it's a pattern overall given this time now you are banned for. You are correct, You don't use ooc too much and for the most part you use it for the intended purpose, Asking for help, If something is wrong ect that's why it has thrown me slightly seeing you misusing it at times. 

We aren't saying not to talk in ooc, At times there are some staff messages directed towards the player base if we do events ect, The point I'm trying to get at is there is a time and place to use ooc and it's not to insult the player base or target one player. You know what it's there and the purpose of the chat.

Now you mentioned about humour, Why not use tweedle? Why did you have to use ooc to attempt to be funny when someone was informing staff of an underaged player in the community (Whilst in the process breaking a rule)?

Yeah I understand where you was coming from, I was just backing the point that i'm not the type of player who sits flaming in OOC all the time nor do I use it often so making sure i don't do this again wont be a challenge as id just continue doing what I normally do 

I do use tweedle for similar things no often if I'm honest. However not many people drop random messages on tweedle, its mainly used for RP posters etc, me just calling people out on tweedle would just get my RP character into bother and situations ill have no control over. As mentioned above I didn't quite understand this would be listed as rule breakage as I thought it would be taken as a joke more than anything. Going forward I do now know the rules I broke with making these comments and can ensure it wont happen again

Tweedle is a helpful tool overall, Whilst yes many do use this for advertising vehicles ect there are many things that it can be used for as a whole, Whilst it's not there to target players, complain about ooc issues ect it's something to keep in mind that indeed can further your RP experience. 

Now based off your appeal I'll hold you to your word that this won't happen again, As if you do end up back in the appeals section moving forth more so for the same thing then it will be very disappointing to see. I'll give you another chance to return to the community since you do seem to understand the rules, What you did wrong and understand that it's not acceptable to be doing. 

As mentioned above, You don't need to stop using ooc however use common sense when doing so and use it for the intended purpose it's there. Hope you have a wonderful evening!
