Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Ravi Labile
Steam ID: 76561198349123038
Ban ID (just the numbers): 17722
Ban Reason: Not sticking to unban conditions
Why do you think you were banned: Firstly hello to whichever staff member takes time out of their day to review this appeal. I am back in the unban section of the forums due to not sticking to the unban conditions set in my original appeal (https://www.roleplay.co.uk/threads/unban-appeal-ravi-gta-rp.423709/).

In that appeal, the conditions were set by Danoo and were as follows:
“You will not be able to play character “Ravi Labile” for 5 months, during this time you MUST create a legal character and experience the legal side of RP (This could be NHS/Fire/Police/G6/Park Ranger/Mechanic/Solicitor ETC). If you’re to be seen logging into Ravi, you will be back onto a ban.”
Why should we unban you: I appreciate that finding myself back in this section of the forums is not a good look at all. I’m going to try not to repeat myself from my last appeal (https://www.roleplay.co.uk/threads/unban-appeal-ravi-gta-rp.426138/#post-2488129) as much as possible.

The circumstances surrounding my legal character were and still are confusing. Legal RP is not something I’ve had the desire to try as it has never appealed to me which is why I think it was difficult for me to find the motivation to play a legal character. I did start a mechanic character alongside another player but ultimately lost the motivation to continue with that too. I then took some time (too much time) to decide what I wanted to do. I was either going to continue with the mechanic character solo or “kill” it and start again in a different legal faction. This is a decision I didn’t manage to come to before being banned for not sticking to my unban conditions.

Having had extra time away from the server and community, I have had time to think about why unban conditions are set and why they are so important. I understand that I was given the condition as a way to gain the staff teams trust again and show them that I can be a valued member of the community again after my last ban and I realise that not only did I disappoint the staff team I disappointed myself by not sticking to a simple condition.

In my previous appeal, Stuart asked why I simply did not involve anyone else on my mechanic character and it’s simply because I did not “know” anyone on that character. During my time on that character I came across people I would have known as Ravi but not as this new character so I was trying to separate myself from “Ravi’s” friends and meet new people as this new character to give the character a real chance and not just have the same friendship group as one or more of my other characters.

I appreciate Danoo’s reason for denying my previous appeal. I was spoken to by staff multiple times about what I was doing with my legal character. The issue I have is when I am put on the spot I just say the first thing that comes to my head. When first asked by Danoo which faction I was going to join I said Fire, this was the first thing I could think of that I could maybe enjoy playing. After this, I went and looked at the Fire application and spoke to people I know had been involved in the faction and had decided that it wasn’t for me and wouldn’t be something I’d enjoy playing. I hate the idea of a character becoming a “chore” to play because it just takes the fun out of the roleplay when you feel forced to be there.

As Stuart mentioned in my previous appeal, it is my job to now convince you to allow me back into the community but I feel words aren’t enough to convince anyone of anything. It is true that actions speak louder than words and if given the chance I would like to show and prove to the staff team that I can be a valued member of the community and I have learned from previous mistakes.

I apologise if this appeal comes across as a "lack of effort", I am just trying not to be repetitive of my previous appeal and sound like a broken record. I am sure whoever reviews this appeal will have questions and I am more than happy to answer them in as much detail as possible.

Ravi.

Hi @Ravi
I hope you are well?

I appreciate the conscious effort you've put into this appeal.
However,
As Stuart mentioned in my previous appeal, it is my job to now convince you to allow me back into the community but I feel words aren’t enough to convince anyone of anything. It is true that actions speak louder than words and if given the chance I would like to show and prove to the staff team that I can be a valued member of the community and I have learned from previous mistakes.
As you mentioned here - I'm not seeing anything in this appeal that will convince me, or the staff team to allow you back.

You were given multiple opportunities to show and prove to us that you can be a valued member, and be a part of the RP community. You were spoken to on multiple occasions regarding your conditions, that you didn't follow. Even outlined in your previous appeal.

From what I am reading here, you don't want a character to become a 'chore' to role play - not wanting to keep up required hours or commitments.
So how will you go about proving to us, that you are here to RP, and not just to be involved in gang scene shoot-outs?
You were given your conditions to prove to us that you were capable of showing us otherwise.

So I ask now, if you're not willing to put in the effort to RP - why do you want to come back?

Good evening Violet, I’m well thank you, yourself?

I can completely understand where you are coming from. Every time I was spoken to by staff (prior to making the mechanic character) I always felt like I was being put on the spot and 9 times out of 10 said the first thing that came to my head which was usually “fire”.

The last thing I would want is for roleplay to become a chore, because I enjoy the unpredictability of it and I fell as though with some factions, not enjoying it would take away the fun I get from roleplaying. I have no issue with keeping up with required hours or commitments, I just didn’t want to commit to a faction I wouldn’t enjoy and feel as though I HAVE to log in even if I don’t feel like playing on the server which is where I feel as though the fun is taken out of the game and becomes chore-like.

I can understand where the staff team have the belief from that I am only here for gang shootouts and ultimately it comes down to that being fun for me on the server, I won’t lie and say I don’t like the fights because I do. I enjoy the adrenaline and fun that having gun fights bring. But I am not, and never have been only here for the gun-fights. This can be shown with the RP myself and others put into Legion Bean Machine when we were trying to buy it. Whilst “managing” the restaurant, I enjoyed planning, preparing and hosting events such as car meets and quiz nights. This was a different dynamic of RP that I hadn’t experienced previously and I did enjoy it. Unfortunately, due to the new CoC & Policing rules (in game) it’s not something we could continue because they wouldn’t allow the sale so I lost that side of RP that was refreshingly different to the “typical” gang RP. This isn’t super relevant but I wanted to give an example of RP I enjoyed that wasn’t gang related in the slightest to show that I am capable of other RP.

I want to assure you that I am willing to put in the effort, and I am expecting, if unbanned, another character lock and I am considering which faction I would enjoy to prevent the “chore-like” feeling of playing a character. Something which I hope you can understand isn’t an easy decision to make when I have no experience with any of the legal factions so cannot say with 100% certainty that I would enjoy it as the legal side of the server has never been something that peaked my interest, but if it’s what I have to do in order to return then I’ll do what I have to. I want to return to the community because it’s a community full of my friends that I enjoy playing the server with. Of course there is also the situation with Aztecas. My main character “Ravi” has been a member of Aztecas for a long time and he won’t like that the gang became inactive when they were once one of the most out there gangs. If given a character lock, I understand that Ravi won’t be around as soon as I’d like and that’s okay. I would also like to make it clear that “Marcus” is and would no longer be a part of a gang nor do I plan on him being in a gang, if anything he will just be a petty criminal if I keep him around.

I am willing to do what it takes in order to return to the community and show the staff team that I can be a valued member of the community. I know my words mean nothing when my prior actions have been the complete opposite but all I can do is try and correct my past mistakes and attempt to gain the trust of the staff team again.

I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to this appeal.

Hello there @Ravi , I hope you are well.

After having had a discussion with other staff, here is where we stand.

You have been given a great chance to show us you are here to roleplay instead of shooting and causing issues - you have failed to do so and instead decided to waste our time and generosity on multiple occasions. Lying about having put in applications for factions and stringing us along, all because you are clearly not interested in putting in the work to do something different.

For that reason, we will not be entertaining an appeal from you again until 10/05/2025. After that, you may try again and we will see if the sour taste has gone away enough for us to give you yet another chance.

Denied.
