In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I've been playing on GTARP on and off since 2021. I've loved every second of it - meeting new people, making friends, joining groups, creating businesses etc. I've sat in queues for hours and hours just for a chance to join. I thought I'd try and play in 2023 once again - but I made an idiotic choice:

I recently made a new business called "WeBuyYourCar", in which I buy someone's used car for much less than it's worth, upgrade it then sell it. Everything was going very well (amazing infact), I was meeting new people, creating contacts with Dealerships and other Used Car Dealers - it was going just as planned and I loved every second of it. Until, I ran out of money and was unable to buy & flips cars. Getting so many calls about buying peoples cars, I pressured myself into getting more money quick - and I had a stupid thought. "I have another character who has some money and a few cars, maybe I could sell them and transfer the money over. Surely, no-one will notice". What a stupid thing to do. I even asked in OOC "How long do items stay on the floor for" - I mean how dumb could I be? I sold my Toros to a well-known player, and put about £35,000 on the floor near the G6 car park, thinking I could just pick it up with my main character Max Wilson... I logged back on, grabbed the money and was planning on doing the same with the £400,000ish I made from selling my Toros. I logged back on after a couple of hours, and what did I see? "RPUK - Permanent Ban". I wasn't even mad, just upset and annoyed at how stupid I could be, I knew this would happen - I just pressured myself into exploiting and making a quick buck, instead of grinding like others in the city. I thought "Why should I be able to exploit and get away with it?".

I was banned for clearly disobeying the rules, and transferring money from my second account to my main "Max Wilson" account. I transferred £35k and planned to transfer another £400,000, until I was banned. I exploited this system, and was rightfully banned for it. Exploiting and transferring money ruins the roleplaying experience, player-run market, experience for other players and also is unfair to others who grinds all day to earn legit money.

Why should we unban you ?: I believe I should be unbanned as this is my first offence (that I know of) and believe I have learned from my mistake. I have now re-read the rules and believe I can re-join the server to provide an excellent roleplaying experience. Previously, I have provided excellent roleplaying to other players, always staying in character, creating a fun "WeBuyYourCar" experience and more. If I was to be unbanned, I'd fully expect a full reset of my characters (including memories, money, houses, items etc). I believe I should be unbanned also as I provide a mindset of creating new businesses/services which enhances the roleplaying experience for others. For example, WeBuyYourCar provided others with a fun car valuation experience, and people came to my "valuation car park" just to chat and roleplay as the real WeBuyAnyCar. I believe I can create other services, which are not linked to previous characters or services, which can also enhances the roleplaying experience for others.

I fully believe that if I was generously given another chance, I could prove that I can be trusted within the server and not to exploit/break any rule. This stupid mistake made me appreciate how the admins respond to exploits/reports so quickly and harshly. It helps protect the server from rulebreakers, like myself, and keeps the roleplaying experience enjoyable and fair.

If I was to be unbanned, I'd plan on creating another business venture - but this time something more attainable and realistic for a single player. I believe "WeBuyYourCar" was too big for someone with just 500k in the bank - it was destined for failure from the start (even after applying for a loan).

How can we trust you wont do this again, as you stated you were planning on doing this with 400k to make a quick buck. What other corners may you cut in order to gain the advantage?

Yes, I agree to these terms. I would like all of my characters deleted, so I can have a fresh start if that's possible (if this is not possible, I would like Max Sunderland to be my main character from now on).

(C2.2) Exploiting​

"(C2.2) Exploiting - Using or attempting to use any exploits in any of our community game servers such as but not limited to duplication of items or money, transferring/processing items through walls and windows or bypassing intended animations. Punishment is a permanent ban without appeal. If you discover an exploit that nobody else knows about, please reveal it to a staff member privately in order to ensure that it does not get abused in the future."

Exploiting is the act of using glitches or manipulating game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage. An example of this could be transferring money from one character to another, duplicating items to sell and using animations to break free from cuffs/avoid death. Exploiting can cause significant damage to not only the community, but the server in general. This rule is important to enforce due to it's effects on other players.

The C2.2 Exploiting Rule is in place to protect other players from being negatively effected by exploits - such as duplicated weapons or being killed unfairly. The rule is extremely important to maintain and enforce. Permanent bans are handed out due to the likelihood of the banned player re-exploiting. Exploiting also damages the player run economy and roleplaying element for all players - such as mass selling duplicated weapons or ammo.

(G2.9) Transferring Money​

"(G2.9) Transferring Money - Transferring money or items between your own characters is not allowed by any method."

Players on the GTARP server have 4 character slots. These characters will have a separate bank account from one another, with different amounts. In theory, these players can drop their money on the floor and pick up with another character - this is called "Transferring Money", and is against the rules. It is a form of exploiting, as you are exploiting a game mechanic (multiple character saves) for personal gain. This results in a permanent ban.

The G2.9 Transferring Money rule is enforced similarly to exploiting. Enforcing this rule on the GTARP server helps protect other players from receiving "exploited money" and protects the player run economy - as this could cause prices to rise/fall depending on the amount exploited. It is also unfair to players who grind jobs, such as taxi's, for hours just for another player to exploit into a more powerful position. The rule is in place to maintain a legitimate balance within the economy, and to punish those who exploit the character select mechanic.

How can we trust you wont do this again, as you stated you were planning on doing this with 400k to make a quick buck. What other corners may you cut in order to gain the advantage?

If I'm able to re-join the GTARP server, I will be working to rebuilding my trust within the community every time I play. This will entail by grinding for money, not just exploiting the system, and using legitimate means of gaining money (such as taxis, whitelisted jobs, crime .etc). I've learnt the hard way of trying to "make a quick buck" and the consequences that follow. After this incident, I know I will not cut corners to gain an advantage. I am looking into joining a whitelisted service, if this is possible after a ban, to help provide more roleplay for the community.

Working hard for money is part of the roleplay, and it is much more rewarding doing so in a legitimate way. I will prove to the staff and others that I can achieve this, and I am more than happy to have spot checks/meetings/observing to ensure I am no longer exploiting or transferring money or items.

I was being inconsiderate and naive thinking I could get away from exploiting and breaking the rules. Your trust has been broken with myself, and it is entirely my wrong doing. I am truly sorry for the time I've wasted and hassle caused for the staff.
