Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Lucy Winters
Steam ID: 76561199391867391
Ban ID (just the numbers): 1234
Ban Reason: C1.2, C1.8
Why do you think you were banned: I believe I was banned under the following rules as per my last appeal (https://www.roleplay.co.uk/threads/unban-appeal-lucyy-gta-rp.425372/) which I will go into details on below: C1.2, C1.8
Why should we unban you: Firstly hello to whichever staff member takes their time to review this appeal. I'm just as disappointed about being in this section of the forums as some of you may be but I appreciate you taking the time to give this a read.

So, as per my last appeal, the rules I was banned under are C1.2 and C1.8 (to my knowledge). I apologise I cannot get the ban ID as I am discord banned so I am unable to try connecting to the server to get it. If anyone is able to obtain this for me I will edit the Ban ID section above to reflect it.

The first rule break here I'd like to talk about is C1.2 which is "Discrimination - do not express discriminatory or otherwise offensive views. This is no place for racism, religious hatred, ageism, sexism, homophobia, gender or disability discrimination." Now as it hasn't been clarified to me, I can only assume this rule break came into play when I called Cutlass members "illiterate". I would like to explicitly say this was aimed at their characters and not themselves personally as they are well know in RP to change what things are called to suit their narrative at the time. The example at the time was them calling Dutch London "Cutch London". At no point was this an attack on them personally OOC and if I had been made aware any of them took offence I would have apologise immediately. After the conversation in the Groups discord I went to sleep and woke up the next day being banned from all RPUK discords. I put 2 and 2 together and assumed it was due to my comments. Due to this assumption I did attempt to reach out to Kash in order to ask him to pass on my apologies to any of his members that took offence and read it as an OOC attack on them - my friend request was never accepted therefore I couldn't send that message as my privacy settings prevent me from sending and receiving dm's from people who I am not friends with.

I had a conversation with someone on the evening of 1st June in regards to me asking them if they could pass the message on for me. I knew this person was friends with Cutlass members at the time and they assured me they had passed the message on to Kash that I wanted to apologise hence the friend request. I have since spoken to this person and asked if they wouldn't mind me sharing screenshots of this conversation, and they have asked me to keep them private but have no issue with me sending them privately should any staff member(s) want to see them as proof that I did attempt to reach out and apologise for my comments as soon as I thought someone had taken offence. If you would like these I can send them via dm's on the forum.

The second rule that was mentioned in my first appeal by Stuart was C1.8 which is "Encouraging Rule Breaks - forcing or encouraging another member of the community to break a rule." It is my understanding that this rule break was placed on me due to a back and forth sarcastic conversation I was having with Owen (an Azteca) in the Groups discord at the time. I would like the point out that at no point was that conversation serious in any aspect. It was just 2 people having a laugh. If I remember correctly it was something along the lines of Grove buying Azteca turf for 5k which is what Cutlass wanted to end the beef we were in.

In my last appeal Stuart provided the following screenshot - https://i.gyazo.com/bdb52c57ac7f226e9008510db9881ff2.png. It is a screenshot of me telling Owen that I had passed the message on that Aztecas would be "tax free" on the new Grove turf. Again, this was never RP information, nor was it a serious conversation to begin with. If anyone read that whole conversation as serious I would have preferred it being pointed out to me that people thought it was serious and I would have made it clearer at the time that it wasn't, avoiding all of this. I have never, and would never encourage anyone to break a rule - they're there for a reason.

I would also like to touch on something else Stuart said..."Yes I do know you also went behind a decision made by leads in relation to compensation”. This isn't quite what happened. At no point did I attempt to go "behind a decision made by leads". I'm well aware what Stuart is referring to here and I'd like to clear it up. This is in regards to the mass amount of compensation requests that got denied for broken weapons found when doing the bin jobs (when it was new). I dm'd 1A3 as a friend, not as a dev, to simply ask for clarification as to why some people got accepted then everyone else got denied. I felt like if I mentioned it in the main discord I may be seen as trying to stir the pot when in all honesty I just like clarification as it wasn't clear at the time why everyone got denied after the first few got accepted. At no point did I attempt to go behind anyones back. I simply asked a question to a friend. If this was misconstrued and read in any other way then all I can do is apologise.

I have been a part of this community now for 2 years (in 4 days) and this is the first ban I've ever been given and it came with a 6 month cooldown. I have never been reported (personally) nor do I believe I have any warnings on my profile (I could be wrong but I don't think I do). To get a 6 month cooldown on my first ever ban 1.5 years into the community is disheartening to say the least. I've said since the ban that it was highly unlikely I would appeal, but I never said never as I didn't want to be one of those people that said they'd never appeal it then did it anyway.

One of your questions might be "why did you try and kick up a fuss?" which again, my intentions were never to do so. After certain things happened (which for obvious reason's I won't be going into detail about) and I felt as though as someone outside of the loop nothing was done about it as I was never spoken to about it again, I wanted to stick up for myself and I'm aware that after said incident I got a lot more defensive. Stuart even went as far as to call me toxic in my last appeal. Now toxic is a word I would never describe myself with nor would I want others to describe me as. Everyone that has ever shown me respect has had my respect. Now, I'm also a very opinionated person, and after (from my POV) nothing was done about said incident, I started to want to defend myself more since it felt like no one was going to defend me anywhere else. That incident messed me up, more than I should have allowed it to, and I let it get the better of me. Some of you may have seen that as disrespectful but it is never how I intended to come across. I am not a rude person yet maybe it came across that way when I would speak without thinking and for that I do whole heartedly apologise, I can assure you this is something I am actively working on.

In short, I hold my hands up that although my actions may have been intended one way, they were perceived another, and that's 100% on me. I hope whichever staff member(s) take the time to read this appeal can see the sincerity. I understand the trust may be gone, but believe me when I say I do not want to be in this position again. 6 months is a long time. I'm hoping my clean record up until now shows that I can be a valued member of this community. I have had a lot of time to think and reflect these past 6 months and I can completely understand why the ban was placed in the first place as well as Stuart believing I needed a break.

Lucy.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

What happened to "I see no point appealing again in 6 months"?

If you do get unbanned, what will you do?

Will we be seeing you get carried away ooc again?

Hi @PsianaRama , I hope you’re well and thank you for the reply.

To be honest, at the time of my ban I didn’t see a point in appealing as I had a problem with the atmosphere on the server at the time. Since my ban, I’ve seen & been told about how the server has/is changing and I see that as a positive thing. I was also pissed (for a lack of better words) that I got a 6 month cooldown on my first ever ban, I saw it as unfair and unnecessary. I have had the time to truly reflect on the ban and how I ended up here and was able to come to an understanding as to why the 6 month cooldown was placed in the first place. I did in fact need it, I just didn’t see that at the time.

In terms of what will I do if I am unbanned, I genuinely have no idea. I know I have no plans on going back to Grove. I’ll probably just chill for a while, see and explore the recent updates and catch up with people I used to enjoy playing the game with. I read the change log about the new restaurants and the food update and I did really enjoy the short time I was running Legion Bean Machine so maybe that could be something to look into - owning a business/restaurant and keeping away from the gang scene for a while.

I can assure you, these past 6 months have given me a lot of time to reflect and I’m too old to be getting involved in silly ooc drama. It’s honestly childish and I just want to stay away from it. Not being in an OCG will mean I have no reason to be in the groups discord which I think is a lot of where my issues lay. As for the main discord, I’ll be muting it to only get notified of @‘s. That way I can keep up to date with updates and general @‘s from staff but I won’t feel the need to be looking at every notification. As for the in game OOC chat, I’d be getting back into the habit of keeping it hidden to avoid reading/seeing and getting involved in any drama in there. I will only be responding to @‘s in the ooc chat.

I have 0 interest in being in this position again. Like I said in my appeal above, in 1.5 years I don’t believe I even have any official warnings on my profile so to be sat here for 6 months has sucked. I have always tried to be a genuine member of the community that has the trust of the staff team but unfortunately the last few months before the ban I let other issues get the better of me and faced the consequences.

I can assure you, I have no interest in ooc drama and any issues that do arise I will be bringing to the staff team via a ticket. The right way to go about it.

Thank you.

Good afternoon @Lucyy

I hope all has been well?

What have you reflected on during this time away? How has this time away altered your attitude towards OOC drama?

How can we trust you will remain level headed during any OOC drama in future?

Hi @Jessie Bennett , I'm well, yourself?

What have you reflected on during this time away? How has this time away altered your attitude towards OOC drama?
The main thing I had time to sit and think about is how disruptive OOC drama can really be to the rest of the community. When you type before you think, and don't consider the impact your messages could have, it leads to this which is completely fair, no one else in the community signs up to seeing other people's unnecessary drama. The 6 months away has been refreshing. I took a long break away from FiveM in general and shifted my focus onto irl things and playing other games. The conversations in the Groups discord that lead me to be banned were not only unnecessary but also very childish - banter or not, none of it needed to be said in the first place and this whole thing could have been avoided if I'd just thought before I spoke. In terms of my attitude towards drama - I want nothing to do with it. I don't want to be involved in anyone else's drama and I don't want to incite any drama of my own. My time away has taught me that doing so leads me here, where I don't want to be again. Actions have consequences and 6 months is a long time to sit and think about the actions that got me these consequences. I'm not here to constantly be the one who's name gets mentioned when there's drama - it's not what I want my name to be known for. I want my name to be known for high quality and fun RP. The ban has definitely opened my eyes to the path I was going down and I want to get off that path and go down the right one.

How can we trust you will remain level headed during any OOC drama in future?
Trust is never given - it's earned and I want to earn that trust back that I once had with the staff team. Actions truly do speak louder than words though and all I can do is assure you, given the chance to come back, I have 0 interest in OOC drama - whether that's in discord or the OOC chat in game. I'll be making sure that I think before I speak all the time. There's a way to go about things and unfortunately I'm here because I did not go the right way. In future, I'll be making sure to follow the correct channels that the staff team advise for example sorting out any issues privately and not within a public discord channel where other people have the opportunity to get involved and escalating the issue.

Thank you for the reply - Lucy.

Thank you for your reply

I am getting better thank you (I had that nasty flu just before Christmas)

This is very true, what would you do to earn that trust back?

If you were given another chance how would you stay out of OOC drama?

Oh I feel for you, I had it just after Christmas! I hope you feel better soon it's nasty!

I'm not sure how to answer both of those questions separately because to me they kind of go hand in hand. In order to earn the trust back I will be staying out of OOC drama, period. If I have any issues I'll bring it to the staff team before it can escalate into a dramatic public thing. I just want to keep my nose clean and stay out of trouble. I managed to do so for 1.5 years but I let other things get the better of me and I slipped down the wrong path. I don't want to continue down that path at all because it just leads to this and I do not want to be back in this section of the forums. The OOC chat in game will be hidden so that I don't see other people's drama while IC and if I'm needed to see something and/or respond I can still get pings. I will be muting the discord and suppressing notifications to only get @'s that way the only time I will need to look at the discord is if directly @'ed by staff or anyone that has a reason to need my response. The best way to earn back the trust of the staff team is to stick to my words that I have said here and prove that I am genuine and I am able to stay out of trouble - I managed for 1.5 years, I don't want a childish and unnecessary mistake that lead me here to define the rest of my time within this community.

It was horrible! Hopefully you're feeling better
I'm good thank you, I'm all over it now just a bit of a sniffly nose.

In a way yes but you have been warned in groups and on the main discord on many occasions to rain it in, why did it take this ban for you to listen?
I'll be honest, like I said in my main appeal, I wanted to stick up for myself and at the time the group I was a part of. After a certain incident (which I won't go into for obvious reasons), it felt like nothing got done about it, I was left out of the loop and I was left thinking if no one is going to defend me I'll start to defend myself. Whilst I had the best intention, the execution of such ideology was poor and it went too fair admittedly. I think it took this ban for me to actually sit back and reflect and understand that whilst I was upset and frustrated and had the best intention to defend myself I did take it too far and slipped completely away from my normal understanding, cooperative, level headed self. I let issues get the best of me and lost sight of the correct way to go around things - something that I won't allow to happen again. During my time away I've taken time to understand what triggered me into such a state and how to avoid it in the future - such as taking it to staff and not allowing it to escalate on a personal level to the point where it erupts into a dramatic outburst.

I am happy to hear this

I wanted to stick up for myself
You are well within your right to defend yourself but there are ways to do this.

What is different about this appeal to any other appeal? How can I be sure you aren't saying what you think I would want to hear?

Which I know I didn't go the right way and I did let it get out of hand.

Given the reason for my ban is that I couldn't keep my mouth shut - I wouldn't sit here and just say what I thought what you wanted to hear because I know it wouldn't get me anywhere if I couldn't keep my word if I were unbanned. I've always been a (sometimes brutally) honest person. I have no reason to sit here and mince my words and not say what I think/feel. There is no difference between this appeal and other genuine appeals, but the big difference could be said that everything I've said I mean and given the opportunity to prove it I will stick to my word and show that I meant every word I have said here. I've never been the type of person to say what a person wants to hear just to please them, if I can't be honest then there wouldn't be any point in appealing in the first place.

I have a very self reflecting question for you, so i'd like you to take your time and think about about this for some time.

If our roles were currently reversed, would you unban me?

If our roles were currently reversed, would you unban me?
If our roles reversed (you are me and I am you), I would unban you and I'll happily explain my thought process here (it may not make sense for a second just bare with me this is isn't easy to try and explain).

The first thing I'd do is look into history - multiple times you were told to wind your neck in - you didn't listen and actions have consequences so the ban happened. Prior to this, you weren't ever in trouble, no official warnings (I don't believe) and no reports against or prior bans. I'd take into consideration that the circumstances surrounding the ban and prior was not an easy 6 months (I'm not looking for any pity here and it's no excuse for poor behaviour). A 6 month cooldown was placed - during this time some would expect someone who can't keep their mouth shut to keep going - this didn't happen. You took the ban on the chin and waited out your time and didn't continue drama during the ban period - regardless if you agreed with the ban/cooldown to begin with or not. During the appeals process you claimed ownership of the ban and the actions leading to it - being honest about your plans and why things happened the way they did. If the roles were reversed I'd see someone who took the wrong turn somewhere down the road and it lead them here - they have taken their consequences in a more mature manner than they presented themselves prior to the ban and they have come back ready to be a member of this community the right way. But I would talk to my other staff members to get other opinions and perspectives - it's a difficult decision for 1 person to make. I would see that overall you are not a bad person. You allowed other things to get the best of you and I could see that you're taking measures to ensure it doesn't happen again.

I'd like to think I've been very transparent in this appeal - I've got no reason to try and pull the wool over anyone's eyes just to get unbanned. The only way I'll ever be able to prove to the staff team that I have truly matured and understood where I went wrong is to show them. If the roles were reversed, yes, I'd give you a second chance to prove to everyone your attitude and mentality have changed, and that you are capable of being a non-disruptive member of the community. I'd unban you with obvious conditions that if there were any outbursts or if you were seen getting involved in or inciting OOC drama in any way shape of form it would be back to a permanent ban with another 6 month cooldown - I say this because I know I won't allow myself to be back here.

Good afternoon @Lucyy

I hope all is well?

Looking over the history of your time here you have made some comments in regards to staff and how they do their duties, why was this? All staff are to be fair to all people (legal and crim) and if you feel like this is not happening there are ways to discuss it.

After discussing this appeal with other staff I am considering to give you a second chance, but this would come to conditions.

1 - You are not to join any gang for 3 months
2 - If you are seen displaying the same attitude that got you banned in the first place for 6 months you will end up right back here. This is restricted all RPUK platforms
3 - If you are seen breaking any rules in the next 6 months you will end it right back here

Do you agree to the conditions above?

I have no excuse for previous comments I have made. To be honest I couldn't sit here and relay everything I've ever said because my comments were that unnecessary. All I can do is apologise for previous comments I may have made against staff. Like I've said before, my attitude has changed and if in the future if I ever find myself in the same position I will absolutely find the best way to discuss it without bringing all the drama and unnecessary comments.

Do you agree to the conditions above?
I absolutely agree. I will not allow myself to be back here.

Hello @Lucyy

I am well thank you, just unable to shift a cough

I absolutely agree. I will not allow myself to be back here.
I hope you don't waste this chance.

I will post the conditions here as well.

1 - You are not to join any gang for 3 months
2 - If you are seen displaying the same attitude that got you banned in the first place for 6 months you will end up right back here. This is restricted all RPUK platforms
3 - If you are seen breaking any rules in the next 6 months you will end it right back here
