Why do you think you were banned: Homophobic slurs and acting out of character
Why should we unban you: Im very new to this whole roleplaying thing, i am also a northerner and abit of an old man. I do not understand all these new laws and regs on what you can and cant say, the other person i was calling a faggot was my best friend. We both use the same language to talk about one another, there was no malicous intent. Ive been trying real hard in this city. Ive invested so much of my time, i have made some genuine friends in the city i would be absolutely devistated if i was to lose everything. I am very sorry, i will know for future not to use such words. But i genuinely didnt know, im from a rough and ready area, i talk differently to the norm. It was not intended to hurt anyone. Because im still very new to roleplay , i didnt realise you had to mute your voicebox when reading the chat, i was genuinely confused because i didnt know what i had said or what was counted as a slur.

1. Can you state the rules and what you believe they mean.

2. Why do you think we have these rules in place?

Do not express discriminatory or otherwise offensive views. This is no place for racism, religious hatred, ageism, sexism, homophobia, gender or disability discrimination.

I believe this means no name calling whatsoever, there is a lot of ways your words can be taken the wrong way. Just keep name calling in any form to 0.

These rules are in place to protect the community.

What happens in Roleplay needs to stay within Roleplay. Do not bring in character issues outside of the game, likewise do not bring your real life issues with other players into the game. You ARE NOT your character and they ARE NOT you.


The chat in the top left hand corner is not part of your roleplaying character, do not voice it. Your character in the city can not see the chat therefor it can not be read out loud.

Please explain to me what derogatory terms are and why you think we do not allow them here. What effect would it have on the server and the player base, if everyone could say whatever they wanted?

You will have to put some more effort into your replies.
 
I'm not all too good at typing out my words, I do apologise. All my effort is invested in trying to get back into the city, please don't think I'm giving this a half arsed response. I downloaded TeamSpeak to speak to the staff team, my accent is very strong and the way we speak is very rough. I just want to reiterate, i was calling my friend the word and it wasnt in anger or in any malicious way. I wasn't even aware the word was so illicit, i have invested alot of time into my character in the city. I have joined the Rising Suns gang and i actively roleplay with them all on the daily. It would be a determent to my mental wellbeing if i couldnt spend my alone time in the city socialising.

The definition of derogatory is 'showing a critical or disrespectful attitude' ... I wasnt being derogative in any form, i wasnt being disrespectful to cause malicious intent. Its a general way in which we speak, the lad i was calling the name is also from the northeast. we speak the same.

But if everyone was to say whatever they wanted, i suppose there wouldnt be a player base or server at all. It would be a shit show. And i respect the rules and laws, to great degree. however it was a mistake and i didnt mean to cause all of this.

please if i can speak to someone via voice chat i can answer these questions better. I do apologise if you think im not interested... ive sat and refreshed this page 10000 times waiting for a reply, i couldnt be any more interested and invested if i tried.
