Unban Appeal for Dave_Prepton

In-game Name: Dave Prepton

Server: GTA RP

Steam ID: 76561198811355026

Ban ID: !!rpuk11059!!

Reason given for your ban: C2.3 - Roleplay Everything

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I think the reason for my ban stems from my decision to log off following a bike accident in a remote location. With no other players in the vicinity, I assumed it was permissible to log off, especially since I had to go to bed. At that moment, I genuinely did not perceive it as an active RP situation due to the absence of any other players in proximity.

Why should we unban you ?: I have a clean record, with no prior instances of punishment, mutes, or bans on this FiveM server or any other. As I previously mentioned in my earlier appeal, I find the severity of this punishment quite excessive for a first-time offense, especially since it didn't affect anyone else – there were no other players around when I logged off. Nevertheless, I now understand the rule and acknowledge my mistake. Considering it's my initial transgression, I believe it's reasonable to grant me a second chance under the circumstances.

In my previous appeal, it seems the first staff member found it acceptable, as they suggested I reapply at a later date. I'm not particularly skilled with words, so now that I've been rejected for "lack of effort" simply for reusing my previous appeal, I'm unsure as to what more I can add. This situation doesn't offer much else to discuss aside from my sincere apology and assurance that such an incident won't occur again. If you choose to believe in my sincerity, I appreciate your vote of confidence, and I'm eager to demonstrate how valuable my friends and I can be to the server. If you remain unconvinced, this will be my final attempt at appealing this offense, so you won't see me around any further. I hope for the opportunity to return to the server.

Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Are you sure that's what that rule is about?

Does the combat logging rule allow you to log off if no players are around?
I must apologise for my earlier confusion, as I had mistakenly conflated "C2.3" and "G2.3," which appeared very similar to me. Your clarification has significantly helped with my understanding so thank you for that. Upon revisiting the community rules comprehensively, not limited to the Roleplay rules, I now have a clear grasp of the issue at hand.

As a relatively new player to the FiveM platform, I've been attempting to familiarise myself with the rules. Admittedly, my primary focus was on the Roleplay Rules, as I believed these were most pertinent to my situation. Regardless, I understand that when creating my character, I willingly accepted all the rules, and there's no real excuse for any subsequent rule violations but I'm going to be honest, it's a vast amount of information to try to absorb and retain when you're new.

Upon reevaluating the Community Rules, I've come to realise that even in the absence of other players, I should refrain from logging out if I find myself in a scenario that could be considered an "RP situation." It has become apparent to me that I failed to recognise my situation as an RP encounter or combat logging when I experienced the bike crash. My actions were not intentional rule violations or attempts to gain an unfair advantage, and I sincerely apologise once again for any misunderstandings.

Right, so just to be sure there will be no confusion in the future, could you copy in the rule you broke, then explain it in your own words and also explain why it's in place.

(C2.3) Combat logging - Logging out at any point during RP is exploiting. Some examples of this include: logging out during a firefight, being chased by the police, arrested by the police, while dead awaiting a medic, logging out in order to save gear, rage-quitting, logging out whilst restrained/detained. Punishment is a permanent ban. Staff can make an informed decision depending on if you’ve made an attempt to resolve the issue. We do suggest you attempt to rejoin the server and continue the roleplay (try messaging them with the mobile system first).

This rule (C2.3 - Combat logging) is essentially stating that if you are in an 'RP situation' (An RP situation being any scenario that would, at some point, involve another player), you are forbidden from exiting the game without roleplaying the whole situation out first. A perfect example of combat logging would be 'logging out while dead awaiting a medic' as this is essentially what I did and why I was punished. This rule is in place to preserve the continunity of roleplay and to keep the game fair for all parties.

Good morning @Dave_Prepton!

We are 2 months off of a year since your ban was placed and it's the only punishment you have on record, it is indeed nice to see you attempting to return to the server.
I'm hoping during your absence you truly have sharpened up on the rules as it would be a big shame to see you end up back on the appeals section again.

I am willing to give you another chance here on the server, please do not throw that chance away!
Any ban you receive within the next 6 months will be a permanent.
