In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned because when I was a police officer, a person repeatably stabbed me for arresting his friend. The two individuals then ran off and I thought it was safe to leave which I then did for a personal reason.

Why should we unban you ?: You should unban me because I was picking my younger brother up from football and I had no choice but to leave the game. I thought I left at a good time as they had ran off but it was a rookie mistake. I did think that this was a bit harsh of a ban as it was my first time doing anything against the rules on this server. They must of came back and saw that I left. I understand that it was a bad mistake and it appeared as poor RP. I joined the server nearly a year ago and it was a awesome experience so far. I think I deserve a second chance to prove that I can be trusted with following the RPUK rules. I understand that I should of not pursue the arrest and logged off a lot earlier so I had time to pick him up without getting into any encounters. I have learnt from my mistakes and reflected on them for the time that I have been off. It has been a blast on this city and no other cities compare to RPUK. I promise that my roleplay will be a lot better than what it used to be and these mistakes will never happen again. The error that I made will easily be fixed by common sense which would include logging off instead of arresting a victim.

Looking over your record this isn't your first time breaking rules on the server, Whilst yes the previous ban you received was over 6 months ago it's still a previous punishment as a whole. 

Lets get right into this appeal, I'll assume you've read the rules previously so with them in mind if you had something IRL come up, Why did you not reach out to the Staff team in this situation to inform us of such things prior?

The IRL situation came up on 2 hours before the situation as I wasn’t supposed to do it. I should of informed the staff but before the event, I was too focused and when I came back from picking him up, I did not come back on which meant that I didn’t have time to text any staff after. I should of let the staff know before hand or after as they would of understood my situation.

There are many ways to contact a member of staff, From ooc chat, Teamspeak, discord tickets ect, So why wasn't another avenue used during this time? 

How can we be sure you won't simply do the same thing again should we give you an opportunity?

To be honest at the time I wasn’t thinking straight as I was too focused on the police job and my IRL situation. I would of let the staff know after the situation which I wish I did but I completely forgot about it after this occurred. I should of let them know before the pursuit but I was on the motorway and suddenly the persons friend showed up somehow. I was not expecting to get stabbed to death as I was in the middle of nowhere.This would not happen again as I realised if a IRL situation came up again, I would let the staff know before and I would be even more careful about letting them know beforehand. I will now always expect the unexpected.

C2.3- Combat logging

Combat logging is a rule because it stops people from cheating by not letting them leave just before they get killed, not let them leave because of their valuable items etc. If this rule wasn’t in place the city would be so boring as people would just leave before you kill them or if you are robbing them they would just leave. Another example of Combat logging is when you have been killed and waiting for a medic or waiting to get dumped and you just leave. I fully believe this should be a rule as The rp would be so boring as you would get people leaving at every opportunity.

I've had a look over the chat from the day you was banned and in ooc you typed the following message "my police car doesnt want to drive any help??" Should ring a bell, Now saying you had no time to contact staff, You did however have time to ask a question. Whilst it's understandable IRL commitments happen, You did have a way to ask or inform someone right there.

You've mentioned things you should of done as you needed to go ect, Why wasn't this thought of in the moment and not until after the fact?

Yes, that message does ring a bell. This was a few minutes before her friend decided to show up. The plan was to quickly fine the woman but she declined it so I arrested her so I was going to hand her over to another officer and tell him the details of the event. This event frustrates me as I was trying to get her in the car and take her to the station, but it did not let me get her in the car for a while and that eventually got me killed. It was very frustrating. The arrest wasn’t supposed to take long so I didn’t think that I would have to inform the staff before the the IRL situation. It only took a long time when I couldn’t get her in the car.

Very well, I'll give you another opportunity however should something come up down the line inform a member of the staff team before doing anything, It's better to ask and worst case be told no however there is always that paper trail leading back onto a situation. We aren't here just to issue punishments however we are here to help the community as a whole. 

It's clear you know the rules and you know what you did was wrong in this situation and I do hope that this will be a wake up call and direct you to follow the rules moving forth, I do hope not to see you back in this section moving forward! Hope you have a wonderful day and welcome back!
