In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: Looking back, I deeply regret the racist comments I made during that roleplaying scenario. At the time, I got so caught up in the fictional interaction that I lost sight of the real-world impact language can have. In an effort to portray my character in certain ways, I resorted to harmful stereotypes and tropes that I never should have voiced. I let things go too far in the heat of the moment and made discriminatory jokes and statements that violated the community rules and basic respect for others.

Why should we unban you ?: I believe that people have the capacity to learn, grow and change - especially when given a chance at redemption. My hope would be that the moderators could see this single incident does not reflect my full character or beliefs.

If given the opportunity to re-join the community, I would want to demonstrate through my consistent actions that I sincerely understand the harm caused and am committed to thoughtful participation going forward. I would make it my responsibility to read and abide by all rules, call out inappropriate content from others, and report any concerning behaviours.

Additional Information I would like to add: 

It has been around 23 long months since I was banned from the community. This extended time away has given me the opportunity to truly reflect on my actions and better understand the harm caused by the inappropriate comments I made. With hindsight and personal growth, I can now see how my words marginalized and hurt fellow members of this community.

I'm curious though, what racist comments are you referring to? The report against you which ultimately led to your ban, contained discriminatory language, but not racism...

To clarify, I believe I said the n word during roleplay, which was discriminatory language and the likely reason for my ban. I may be misremembering exactly what happened given how long ago this occurred, but I think I used that unacceptable slur - if so, I sincerely apologise for it. It was hurtful and wrong. I've learnt from this experience and aim to improve my conduct moving forward.

I don't understand why you'd think it's okay to blurt this word out within roleplay, knowing full well it's a violation of our server rules?

You're absolutely right, there is never any excuse for using racist or discriminatory language, whether in roleplay or anywhere else. I sincerely apologise for giving the impression that I thought it was acceptable to say the n word, even in fictional contexts. That was terribly wrong of me and a complete lapse in judgement. There is no place for slurs like that on this server or in roleplay scenarios. I should have been far more thoughtful about the impact language can have. If I did in fact use that word, it was discriminatory and hurtful, full stop.

Again, I'm confused as to why you've said it? 
Especially given how you've just stated the word has no place anywhere.

I was young and irresponsible at the time, and had no real understanding of how much that word can hurt. I was in a heated situation during roleplay, and the slur came out. I deeply regret saying it and cannot change the fact that I did. I now understand the power words hold, and know that this or any other derogatory term has absolutely no place anywhere. Using discriminatory language, even once, was inexcusable on my part.

Yes, it was the only word I used in roleplay that would have warranted a C1.2 ban for discrimination. I deeply regret using that slur even once. It was completely unacceptable and does not reflect who I aim to be as a participant in this community.

There was also a certain homophobic comment you had been throwing around at the time, if this rings any bells? 
The one you've admitted to was not the only offense unfortunately. 

I'm also curious as to why you've not appealed since your previous one was declined in September 2021?

You're absolutely right, my memory of the situation is fuzzy after all this time. If I was also making homophobic comments at the time, I sincerely apologize for that discriminatory language as well. There is no excuse for me using any slurs or offensive terms towards others.

You're correct that I have not appealed since my last attempt was declined back in September 2021. The honest reason is that life got very busy, looking after my daughter and work. Being a father completely changed my world and priorities in the best way. I've been cherishing every moment with my little girl and maturing as a person in the process.

I know my past actions have violated that vision severely. And I do not expect forgiveness overnight. But I hope by consistently modelling thoughtful, inclusive behaviour moving forward, I can eventually begin regaining trust. My daughter motivates me to become the caring, principled person I want to set an example for.

I would create a character who works as a mechanic, looking to make an honest living fixing up cars around the city. Or a man enjoying life, making a small humble living fishing.

What quality roleplay can you provide here?

I would contribute to an inclusive, engaging community environment by displaying a down-to-earth personality in casual interactions, using humour and banter to get to know fellow players. By immersing myself respectfully and contributing ideas for collaborative roleplay. My focus would be on representing a grounded yet witty persona through natural dialogue.

You've had this ban since 22/09/2021 - It's clear you've had some lifechanging events since then and I do hope that it's changed you for the better too as stated.
I'm inclined to give you another chance here, at this moment it's the only ban you hold on record so please keep it this way and do not throw this back in my face.
