Why do you think you were banned: I was banned under C1.7 common sense due to picking up another member of my gang during a gun fight through a supposedly "closed door". I was put in a ticket and asked if I were the one to pick up said member at which point I happily admitted that I did. I was then banned because I didn't come forward earlier to say that it was myself and because I didn't have any evidence to prove my innocence.
Why should we unban you: Hello to whichever staff member takes the time to review this appeal. It has been a while since my last unban where I was given a month cooldown by Stuart. I was able to appeal 18th April, which I chose not to do.

I want to try not to be repetitive in this appeal but I hope you can appreciate that some things will be repeated due to the nature of the ban.

Now, the reason that I didn't come forward initially was due to the fact that I didn't see any issues with what I did and I still sit firmly on the fact that the door was open for myself as well as the other Azteca's outside as it had been shot open multiple times. It is unfortunate that door desync is client sided and the accusation was made that I was abusing this.

I have taken some time away from the server which has been good for me and healthy. I decided that despite the cooldown, April was not the right time for me to appeal again and I am here now after taking some extra time away. I believe it has been around 5 months since the ban was placed.

I have always made sure I provided high quality roleplay throughout my time in this community and this is something that got questioned in my last appeal. It's sad to see that staff have the opinion that I have become more of a "fragger" than a roleplayer as this is a label I have never wanted for myself. I have loved the story lines my main character "Kane Brooks" has had so far, from being a huge part of the Azteca rebuild as well as the music I have created.

I am simply looking to return to the community to have fun with my friends again doing something I enjoy. I have slowly watched Aztecas become more and more inactive and that is something I want to change, I want us to be an active part of the community again. I have always prided myself with the quality RP I provide and this will be something I continue to pride myself for.

We do understand the desync that may happen with doors and that its definitely possible that the door was open for you, with the multiple different POV's we had gotten at the time including a member of staff's POV that was also spectating the fight, all POV's shows that the door was closed.

This isn't the only reason we did take action on the report, it was also the fact that the downed players was no were near the doors when picked up and was only able to be picked up due to the radius being larger than expected, I believe the radius has been reduced since then.

Do you think its fair on the Lost that you picked the bodies up from that distance, while they were watching them?

I appreciate you taking the time to review my appeal.

It is a shame that I wasn’t able to get my POV to prove my innocence at the time as it is never my intention to go around breaking rules and ruining situations for other people. I do appreciate also, that for others involved the bodies may not have been where they were for myself and other Aztecas, for example Yacob’s body at the time of me picking him up was in front of the door about a meter or less into the corridor.

I do completely understand and respect where you’re coming from. I wouldn’t intentionally want to ruin the fun for the Lost in that situation nor anyone else for that matter. That was never my plan. In the moment I saw my gang member in front of an open door way and without thinking properly my thought process was “I can get my member out of there”. Whilst yes, I could have gone about it a lot differently which I hold my hands up.

Had I known at the time, that a) the door was closed for those inside and/or b) the bodies weren’t where they were for me for others inside the building I wouldn’t have even attempted to grab them how I did. I took a stupid chance without considering things like desync and client sided issues which again I hold my hands up to.
 
Did anyone one from the Lost say anything in OOC about this situation, or about going to Discord for a chat?
 
If my memory serves me correct I believe an ooc message was put out a short while after the situation but I had already disconnected from the server at that point. If that isn't the case then I apologise as I never saw any ooc messages only what I was told after the fact. As for being asked to discord for a chat I don't remember this either. If I had seen a call to discord I would have happily gone for a chat so that it could have been cleared up and I would have known that the door was closed etc.

Again, this was some time ago now so I don't remember exactly if there were ooc messages or requests for a discord chat. If there was, I whole heartedly apologise for either not seeing them due to already being disconnected or missing them in ooc chat as I don't usually have ooc chat on, so unless my ID was pinged specifically I wouldn't have seen it unless I opened the chat.
 
Onto your prior appeal, you have been given a set of conditions by the staff that was dealing with your appeal,

Following:
"You will not be able to play character "Kane Brooks" for 5 months, during this time you MUST create a legal character and experience the legal side of RP (This could be NHS/Fire/Police/G6/Park Ranger/Mechanic/Solicitor ETC).
If you're to be seen logging into Kane, you will be back onto a ban."

These conditions can be set by staff if we notice a change in your mentality or roleplay, you can find when we did introduce the Character Locking Here.

It was also noticed by staff that you have left the groups discord, before your return we will need you to rejoin the groups discord.

Do you agree to these conditions?
 
I'm struggling to understand slightly - are you saying Kane Brooks is locked for 5 months or?

I left groups cause I was banned, no other reason.
 
Your Character "Kane Brooks" will be locked for 5 months and unable to play it for this timeframe, if seen playing "Kane Brooks" you will be placed back on a ban.
 
What exactly do you not agree with?

Is it the duration of the character being locked or overall?
 
I feel it is unfair treatment. Firstly I had a back and forth explaining a lot of things on my previous appeal which you are more than aware of. There’s been numerous players banned for a more severe exploiting and been given second chances to return and play their main characters straight away. For me, and also Ravi, I picked up a player which for me seemed like he was within range, apparently he wasn’t and I hold my hands up and apologise to the Lost MC players if I ruined the roleplay, which was never the intention and to staff as I never came forward quicker because at the time I felt like I hadn’t done anything wrong. The duration part seems also harsh also. It has been 5 months since I was initially banned, got denied back in March so I decided to take time away from roleplay to give me a complete refresh and come back ready to high roleplay to the standards I have been doing for almost 4 years I’ve been within the community. I feel roleplay is being forced on me which will take away all the natural flow and at that point it becomes stale and not enjoyable.

Your prior appeal declined by Stuart was also for you declining the conditions set to you.
Again, you're now declining these conditions, essentially we've tried offering you a place back on the server but you're not willing to take the chance.

There are far more roleplay avenues to explore, not just Kane Brooks.
