Unban Appeal for Albert Hall

In-game Name: Albert Hall

Server: GTA RP

Steam ID: 76561198007295884

Ban ID: !!rpuk11502!!

Reason given for your ban: G2.9

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned for (G2.9) Transferring money or items between your own characters is not allowed by any method.

Apologies for the shorter than expected appeal before. I was using my phone which wasn’t ideal.

I understand I made a mistake by transferring items. At the time, I didn’t think through the severity of the rule break however in hindsight I fully understand why the rule I broke is in place and can see how the rule protects the integrity of the server in the sense that it stops people from going from 0 to 100 without going through the complex roleplay required to be somewhat rich on the server.

At the time, my thoughts were to make some quick money on my other character. It was a rash decision which was absolutely the wrong choice. I have been on the server since the Altis days and I totally respect the roleplay experience here is maintained by a stringent rule set that we must all adhere to. Breaking this rule was a stupid, rash, and impulsive decision. I didn’t take the time to consider that if everyone decided to break rule 2.9 (and the other rules also), the server would be considerably awful for all involved. The rules provide a basis upon which a solid economy can survive, and my actions potentially can severely impact the roleplay for fellow players. Whilst at the time I did not fully consider this, I know now of the gravity of my decisions.

Over the past couple of days, I have had time to reflect. I’ve had another look over the rules, and this has given me the opportunity to remind myself how the balance & rule set on this server has carved out the most enjoyable roleplay experience available in this continent, and most likely in the entirety of roleplay.

As I contemplate on the situation, it has left me feeling utterly remorseful. To add, this has also exposed how much I love this community and this server. I have made lifelong friends here and given the opportunity, I will never again risk both the integrity of the server and the relations I have made again.

Why should we unban you ?: If I were to be unbanned, I would ensure my decisions always fall within the remit of the rules system. I would take the time to stop and think about how my actions impact other roleplayers.

Sometimes we all need a second chance and today, I modestly request one from yourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal. Please also consider this also an apology for my actions. I hope am awarded the opportunity to put things right. I understand this may result in a wipe of my characters belongings, money and vehicles. If that were the case, I agree it would be completely justified.

Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

That is much better, thank you.

Now, why did you do it in the first place? It must have popped into your head that this is a silly idea, no? Have you ever done something like this before? Remember, honesty is key.

I'll be honest, I did it to make some money to play with some friends on my crim character. All of my time goes into the police character, as I love the type of RP. I thought I might be able to save some time. At the time I did it, it was around 2am and it was a spur of the moment decision to make some quick cash on my other character. I did consider it as a silly idea, but this was before I considered the larger impact across the whole community. Transferring items is my only rule break since the days of Altis. I was banned for firing in a green zone.

You did not answer my other question. Did you ever do this before?

Also, quote me the rule you broke and explain, in your own words, why it is in place and what the consequences would be if it wasn´t.
Furthermore, you would face a deletion of all but one character and the wipe of the remaining one, if you were to be unbanned. Was it worth it?

My apologies. Yes when my crim character was first made. G2.9 Transferring money or items between your own characters is not allowed by any method. The rule is in place to stop players exploiting to min-max quickly. If the rule didn't exist, then people would fear less about money and assets in the knowledge that they can easily replicate the assets - therefore sacrificing the risks involved when making RP decisions. The rule also promotes the efforts required to reach a place of standing within the city. I have two characters, a biker and a police character. If the police character were to be wiped, would I retain my rank within the force or would I have to start again as a probationary? To put simply no it was not worth it as now if i wish to continue the RP as a biker i would need to create a new character and start from the bottom again.

Your whitelisting will remain.

What was it that you transferred when your crim character was first made? You had gotten away with it once, why risk it again?

God now you're asking, It was a few weapons if i recall. Basically risked it again for some quick cash where as the first time was for some IRL friends to try out the server.

I accept the deletion of my crim character and the wipe of Albert Hall.

Now, why would your friends need weapons to "try out the server"?

Didn’t believe they would enjoy the “grind” or stick around not knowing what fun they could have first.

So you and your friends define "fun" on weaponry, did I understand that correctly?

Are your friends still around?

Not necessarily. The point I was making was they would have a more enjoyable experience roleplaying as armed robbers etc than driving a taxi around for hours as their first introduction. The funny thing is only one out of the two ever bothered joining. No he started University.

But is that not what everyone has to experience? We all have to go through that when we first start a character, no? Do you find it fair and justifiable that you broke our rules in a manner like that to give your friends a head start and then again for some quick cash?

What if you would have not been caught?

I don't find it fair and justifiable, hence my aforementioned sincere apology and utmost remorse regarding this. The quick cash was not to benefit them as like i mentioned they were not around for long. If you're asking if I would have continued my behaviour in the future I would like to think I wouldn't have. The consequences are ultimately less RP and that is the whole reason I'm here. Before this situation I didn't consider the greater consequences upon others. Now I have that knowledge, it won't happen again. I have admitted that my decision making was flawed and have displayed utter regret for my actions. I hope this can be a learning experience for me, as I have already expressed that it was not worth it whatsoever. I hope I am given the opportunity to prove myself as an asset to the community that I have been involved with for years. Lifelong friends have been made and I really do hope I get the chance to continue to roleplay with the wonderful members of this community. I again apologise that we are even here and thank you for taking the time to look over my appeal.

Very well.

You were honest and your record does not give much concern so far. The wipe on Albert has been done and your other character was deleted.

Any ban within the next 6 months will be permanent again, do keep that in mind.
