My real life name is Tor Pedo, and my steam account was called the same. I guess the admin found Pedo inappropriate.

Why should we unban you ?
Well, Tor Pedo is my real name. I only have 4 hours in arma, and arma is the only game i have on steam. i didnt know that it was possible to change your name... And when i called my steam account Tor Pedo i didnt think of it as inappropriate, since its my name. I have now changed my name on arma, in hope of joining your server again btw i understand that u might find it funny that my name is Tor Pedo, cuz if u put them together its torpedo... but yeah... Tor is a pretty normal name in my country, and Pedorson is my family name so yeah

Ok, this appeal will be handled by another staff member as per normal policy, but I'll chime in with the details. I don't know whether that is your real name of course, but having asked several Norwegian and Swedish people for their thoughts, they have never heard of the name "Pedo" before, although I know Tor is a very common name (it is the name of one of my own friends). Due to this, I took the interpretation the name was inappropriate and as you had just logged off went ahead with the ban so we could get this on record.

I appreciate some people do have unusual names, but I'm sure you can appreciate why some may see the name and think at first glance it was perhaps hinting as something more inappropriate. My honest advice on the matter is to perhaps change to another name to avoid any misunderstandings as I can see you've already done from recent logins attempts after the ban was issued.

Other than the concerns with the name at the time, I have no other concerns so will leave this to an independent member of staff.
