In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
I was banned for committing RDM in the greenzone.

Why should we unban you ?
I think you should unban me for several reasons. First of all, I wrongly assumed my RDM was justified, as I killed someone RDM'ing in the greenzone, with a weapon out, who had attempted to RDM me. Second of all, I did try to discuss what had happened with the player on teamspeak following the incident, but he ignored my requests and was not available on teamspeak. Third of all, I am the one who gave evidence of myself when I EASILY did not have to. No report was submitted against me by any party, and my report alone is what led to my ban. I INTENTIONALLY included my RDM in my report so I could 100% come clean and be informed by admins if my action was unjustified. 

I believe it is unfair that instead of being warned I was just banned straight away. I don't believe the admins in this case have honestly resorted to a ban as a last resort.

In future, I won't RDM in the greenzone whatsoever - Yes I have learnt my lesson but I still think a ban was unnecessarily harsh considering my circumstances. I could have just been given a warning or been informed first. I try and contribute to this community and honestly I feel like I've been f*cked over for my honesty. I mean, what more can I say? Next time I won't be such an idiot. Sorry for what I've done and it won't happen again. It was unintentional and I have read the rules, I didn't ignore the rules in my situation, I just wasn't sure whether my action was warranted by them or not.

If my ban request is rejected on the basis that I believe a ban was too harsh an action, then sorry but opinions should be allowed and admins are not perfect; there is room for discussion surrounding whether the actions that they have taken are appropriate. My ban appeal should be judged on my actions, and my opinions on the ban itself should be acknowledged but not used against me when deciding whether I should be unbanned or not.

You can be honest all you like and we appropriate that but breaking rules in your own videos does not mean you are exempt from the rules just because you are being honest and reporting others.

No matter who you are in this community if you break rules we all get the same treatment.

 
As I have acknowledged in my appeal: I did break the rules, and I apologise and assure I will not do so again. It was unintentional and a result of a misunderstanding.

How would you go about sorting a situation out with a rule breaker?

 
I would reply to the forum post and ask the player if they believe they have done something wrong. Upon their reply I would either confirm they understand what they've done wrong and won't do it again - or explain to them why what they did was wrong, and expect a response demonstrating they understood. If they fail to do either, THEN I would consider banning them. Essentially, I'd prompt them to write an unban appeal before actually banning them.

 
I think you misunderstood, What would you do if you seen a rule breaking in game, what steps would you take?

 
If in their proximity I would attempt to explain to them what they're doing is against the rules in a roleplay manner. E.g. 'This is a government zone buddy, you could get exiled from the island if you do this'. If this is ignored, I will OOC// in direct chat and explain why what they're doing is against the rules and if they continue I will report them. If this is ignored, and they continue, I will ask to speak to them via sidechat on teamspeak. I will not respond by rulebreaking, Even if they kill me, even if I witness RDM firsthand, even if someone asks me to - I will not break the rules. If they don't come on teamspeak and continue to break the rules, then I will simply stay away from them if they pose my character harm, call the ingame police on them, and if it's causing harm to others then text the admins in game. As soon as I can, I'll report the player. And that's that.

Great, these are the steps everyone should take when dealing with a rule breaker not trying to take into their own hands as people may of thought it was you killing everyone in GZ ay?
