In the group chat on arma of the group Lost Cause it was misconstrued that i broke rule 1.2 with reference to Xkan's name.
Why should we unban you ?
I am appealing this ban, because I was banned for breaking rule 1.2, which I honestly didn’t do.
I understand that you must hear this an awful lot when dealing with unban requests, and as a result have become particularly jaded concerning outright refusals of wrongdoing-, but I’d appreciate if nonetheless if I may be heard out.
Earlier today, I spawned into Athira to play on the server, where two friends and I were intending on attempting a cocaine run. Over the past few days, I have been a part of “The Lost Cause’, a group to which I was invited by Xkan to play with whilst he was on his police holiday.
As I was heading towards the garage, I was contacted in the group channel by another member who’s name sadly escapes me. He simply asked who I was, and I replied- putting a voice on- that I’m one of Xkan’s friends.
Here in lies the reason for my ban- as it was misconstrued that I said Xkan as ‘Xcoon’, thereby being in breach of rule 1.2.
However, the truth is that I simply did not say ‘Xcoon’, in that way. Whilst, I can appreciate that in the voice I had put on caused my vocalization of Xkan to tend towards the aforementioned term, this was simply not my intention at all, and I wouldn’t say that I ever actually said it.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t recording at this point, so I can’t submit any video of the conversation, however I would appreciate greatly if any involved could submit their own recording of the events so my annunciation may be judged.
Immediately after saying this, I was told “You do realise that there are three staff members in this group”, and if you were to listen back you can honestly hear my confusion as to why that would be relevant at all- as I had absolutely no idea that anything I’d done could possibly warrant that response. I afterwards had to clarify with a friend I was currently speaking to on Discord what I could have possibly have done.
To further support my cause, I also feel it necessary to state how absurd it seems for me, after having played with Xkan and lost cause for quite some time now, to come on and use a derogatory term against him. Similarly, I have played on this server for close to 3 years, and in this time have been neither banned or even warned before. I am hugely invested in it, and by this point clearly understand all of the rules- there is absolutely no way I would ever lose all this by breaching a rule as serious as 1.2.
Having attempted to make my case, all that is left now is up to the administration handling this request. I truly hope that a recording of the events can be provided by anybody else involved with this incident, so it can be properly judged, and I hope you can see how absurd it would be for me to, out of nowhere, come on and use a racially charged word against a friend.
