In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
We were performing an armed robbery at a fuel station, police came and we shot at them to defend ourselves, apparently that's now RDM? Also got kicked midway through being arrested for reasons unknown.

Why should we unban you ?
I paid a 25,000 fine straight up the day after, and was not told to do my time in prison by any police officer, and am still highly unsure why we have been banned for RDM, as it was an armed robbery on a fuel station. If I'm being completely honest it would have fit more with the RP to shoot back at the police trying to arrest us. If you want me to go do my jail time on the server then I will happily do that, but I wasn't told to do so. I believe this ban to be highly unfair.

I don't think you understand in the slightest the quality of roleplay we strive for here. The fact you are ignorant enough to state you think it's unfair you got banned for straight away shooting at cops without a word being said is almost comical.

Come on, you must understand that is utterly poor roleplay and is 100% RDM?

OH I understand fully, and I was fully in roleplay leading up to and the day after this incident, being a copper/diamond miner, co operating with police when fined, helping out paramedics healing me, talking calmly and friendly to other players. should I have 'told police I am going to shoot them' before I shot at them (Note that I missed every shot but that's beside the point)? Maybe I should have, but when police rush up to you when robbing a fuel station you get flustered and don't think to warn them, they said nothing to us before pointing guns in our faces so me and my friend panicked and shot. This is not completely against roleplay. If it were completely against roleplay we wouldn't have been robbing a bank in the first place, and just shot people in the street. Ignorant? No, not at all.

please let me understand how this is such poor roleplay, cause I legitimately don't see how this is that big of an issue, and not one that quantifies a banning.

I am keen for this issue to be resolved, as I did actually enjoy playing on the server, and this was the only incident of this nature while I was a somewhat new spawn on the game

The bit where you didn't say a word before shooting is the bit that goes again what the rule says. You don't just need to roleplay in order to shoot at someone, you need to take part in quality roleplay. I can appreciate to an extent the whole idea behind panic shooting but it's established that both sides need to be involved in quality roleplay so the police aren't going to just shoot you either.

We don't expect "I am going to shoot you now" but we do expect some attempt to encourage some talking rather than shooting first and asking questions later. I could make you a fair argument for this rule:

(3.7) Baiting - Baiting for the sake of a gunfight is not roleplay. Punishment is a ban. Examples: Flying over someone with a chopper waiting for warning shots to instantly shoot them back, robbing a service station with the intent of a gunfight, etc.

If you shoot the first person that arrives before talking, does it not look like the bolded section in the above rule?

If you want to look at it that way then I can't argue, but that really was not the intention. I saw the fuel station as a way to get money quick, I was wrong, the next day I spent all day grinding diamond mining to get a decent amount of money. I do not play altis life for the gunfights, I find the fun in securing money for things, and being able to do that with friends. The fuel station was obviously a mistake.

I'll apologise for the fuel station incident, and i'll accept a ban (if it's not permanent, I would like to go back on the server eventually). I can assure you it won't happen again, if it does just perma ban me.

Fired upon a police officer without any forewarning, which is essentially RDM.

I would say I didn't do this but as there is no way of proving it I will say I did, I was in the fuel station, and when I saw the police my first instinct was to open fire on them, which is what I did. This was obviously wrong, and will not happen again.
