Rule Group 4 - Meta Gaming
Why should we unban you ?
The reason this Role Playing Family is a success, the reason that so many players invest years of their time into it (including myself), is because there are enforced rules and guidelines that you have to abide by. These rules and guidelines ensure a safe, fair and enriched experience for all participants within the servers and on the forums. When someone side steps these rules and guidelines, it gives them an advantage which other players do not have, and this is unfair, and degrades the experience for other server users.
Meta Gaming is one of these rules. By using the distance indicator to locate medics, of which I have no counter evidence, I put myself at an advantage, above other players, in order to be revived faster, which is completely unacceptable. The essence of this server, is that through roleplay, we all start and continue on a level playing field with regards to rules. That way we can all succeed and fail through merit of action and effort only.
By conveying the information gained from this instance of meta gaming to a new gang member, I also drew another player into the incident, right at the beginning of his journey on this server, which I feel bad for.
My own journey on this server has lasted over three years, during which time I have been leader of a few successful groups, and mentored many new players within these groups into being highly active members who positively contribute to the roleplay of the server today. I feel through out my time, I have not only positively contributed to roleplay, but actively created events to enhance server wide experience.
Having taken a hiatus from the server, upon return, I thought my understanding of the rules and guidelines was at a high level, however it would appear that some of this knowledge has diminished. Going forward from this point, having re-read the rules, with a fresh understanding of where I went wrong and how I can do better, I would like to continue to enhance the role play experience of those I experience within the server, and assist in continuing the success that has preceded this point.
