In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
It was because I shot a cop on top of a hill in kavlava near the ruined castle

Why should we unban you ?
Honestly mate, I'm brand new to arma and I was running around didn't know the rules asking people what I should do for fun, this guy came up to me saying "you want to pop your cherry?" and I said sure who wouldn't!? then he gave me a pistol an told me to shoot at the people on top of the hill, which I did stupidly not know it was a cop (because of the distance) and next minute I'm banned from the server. I've been playing on other servers and have read an understood the rules now, I LOVE TO RP boy/girls and my mate plays on this server all the time and itd be great to go on some amazing RP adventures. will not happen again. I apologize and appreciate you taking the time in reading my message.

Tell me... How would you approach this situation when this happens again?

 
If someone approaches me again telling me to shoot an officer or anyone for that matter to "pop my cherry" I would honestly let them give me the gun then see if I could make a break for it with the free weapon they just gave me. Also if id did manage to escape I would send the person that told me to do this a msg saying that's called RDM and is against the rules. Or worst case scenario I would just let the player kill me instead if that's the only option I have. then send a msg to police or admin with the players name letting them know what just happen.

Because after reading over the server rules thoroughly I now know what I did was an RDM and I understand why I got the ban and am actually happy it happen as fast as it did, because the chances of myself being RDM'ed is extremely low since the other players must know that if they do break these rules then they run the high risk of being banned.

 
Explain to me, in detail, the RDM rule and why it is not allowed on our game servers.

As it states in the server rules: Random Deathmatch (also known as RDM) - Shooting at someone without engaging in any form of quality role play (eg. Giving enough time for them to comply with your order. Count downs are not considered quality roleplay, please at least attempt to create an interesting roleplay story before considering shooting.) is considered RDM. (Punishment is a ban).

It effects the people around you a great deal because while they are trying to have fun an enjoy the game playing by the rules you get people that ruin the game via not following them, and it may make a few hours of grinding worthless because some A-hole has just ended your life without initiating first. it would also deter them from either playing the game entirely or just the server.
