Brief Summary: 

Replace the default registration plates on vehicles with UK Vehicle Registration Plates. 

Detailed Suggestion: 

Replace the default registration plates on vehicles that usually display "Los Santos" number plates with British number plates.

The Pros:

  • It would add more realism to the UK based server. 

The Cons:

  • Implementation would effect a number of different systems that would need updating.
  • Users with custom registration plates would lose their plate (this could be solved by offering a new private registration with the new system if implemented).

Does this suggestion change balance on the server?

No.

What's wrong with all the police ones starting with PL ? 

But the plates are allready like UK ones no?

Yes old ones are ABCD 123

but all new ones sold are AB12 CDE

Unless your wanting them exact so they do the change half way through a year ?

I think he is referring to the unmarked police cars starting with PL, people will easily spot a police car even if its not marked just because the plate is not a generic British one

The suggestion isn't looking solely at police vehicles its looking at all vehicles in the city, the images above are good examples and they happen to be of police vehicles. 

My thought process was its a UK based RP server with American style number plates, I think it would add more realism making the vehicles look like they are from the UK. 

It would be a nice addition if the plates followed the current UK registration periods. 

 
Although it would be nice to see, I'm not entirely sure how straightforward it would be to implement. 

From what I've seen some vehicle models have the reg plate embedded as a part of the texture of that model, and others share a generic reg plate texture. For the ones that use the shared one, potentially easy enough to do. The mop up work for the individual (past and present) models might be a lot more involved and put people off looking further into this.

Those types of plates are static and dont change

Would also require alot of work. like alot!!!
