Although there was meta-gaming and it does spoil it for those involved. I think we need to start appreciating how bloody hard it is for Bounty Hunters. They are basically hated by the whole server.
Police don't like them cause they see them as "failed cops" or something
Rebels see them as "metagamers, powergamers etc"
I personally have a lot of respect for them, because it is bloody hard to play that role effectively. It's not like the Police, you are directly rewarded by your Roleplay. We get paid per 15 minutes, or 20...whatever. Whereas to my knowledge a Bounty Hunter has to create a realistic story as to how they have found them, play that out, not get killed by the suspects friends, with a weapon that can only harm wanted people and make it to the Police station.
What Dog the Bounty Hunter has taught me is, you get a call, you get a photo. You get their general location and they go out scouting...you can't do it in Altis. You don't get any info....everybody wears masks and nobody will ever admit to being the guilty person. We don't have unique faces or clothing so I imagine that'll get used as an excuse.
I understand your frustration with this but I think rather than turning this guy into a target and looking at reporting him, you should try talk to him and help him learn, help him progress. There's no training for this role and I imagine if he realised fully what he was doing and the trouble it would cause him he would want to put the effort in and go a different way...
Anyway...in summary. Due to the game and how we operate the Bounty Hunters are basically fucked as it is. Their roleplay is very rarely rewarded with an admission of guilt because people don't wanna get caught, or if they do, they don't want someone else gaining money from it.
