Those that run towards firefights

I have been a police officer for just over two months now and one of things I've noticed a lot is that people tend to go towards active firefights, and then they are annoyed when they are arrested for suspicion of using a weapon with intent or that they die in the cross fire. In real life if there is an active firefight between the police and dangerous criminals would you really run towards it or would you flee and try and avoid it like the plague?

An example of this was when I was on a NIU patrol where we were engaged with heavily armed rebels and I decided to flank weed processor in an attempt to gain some height advantage over the weed processor. I saw a civilian in a fedora hat walking towards the weed processor, luckily prior I was taking fire and rolled into a bush which the rebels lost sight of me and I had time to zoom in on the civilian with my scope and saw that he was unarmed so I decided not to take the shot. But it could have ended differently if I was still under fire and saw someone walking towards the weed processor I could have mistaken him as a rebel and fired upon him after I dealt with the rebel shooting at me.

Thank you for reading,

10/10, if you are not part of the firefight, back away if you have a weapon in your bag, because you will most likely be killed or restrained.

Personally i completely agree. I have noticed on many occasions this happening. This is an RP server and running towards a gun fight is not good RP, I also think Police are too easy on rebels that do this. Many times have i had to ask a rebel or hobo leave the area whilst I'm in active gun fight. When you go to restrain them they start complain we had no right to do this. Well... Firstly at any point you could pull a gun on me whilst behind me as this is a gun fight. Secondly RP, so i am moving away from danger and put you in a vehicle for your own safety if you keep persisting on 'harassing' me whilst I'm doing something.

My opinions but i do believe police should have the right to place rebels that are abusing the fact they have no visible gun out to flank or get very close to you, even just distract you. In this case i would suggest it is okay to put somewhere safe like a car or station away from the fight.

My Kavla hobo character: Gun > Life

My ifrit king/rebel character: Agreed, hobo's should back the fuck of active gun fights

My normal view on this: Couldn't agreee more

As a cop, I tended to actually arrest anyone who was near me in the middle of a firefight.
I'd shout at them to leave the area immediately, if they didn't I' just arrest them, move them somewhere safeish and just leave them there.

The way I saw it, they could either be endangering their own lives, or potentially be endangering mine.

They can argue all they wanted, but no-way in hell could they ever win an argument about whether I did the right thing.
Rule #1, Value the lives of all citizens, and then you're own. If they won't do what's necessary to value their own lives, then you need to do what's needed for them.

Edit: In the weed processing situation, someone will need to watch him closely, or if you are in comms range, you should tell him to leave immediately. Even if it slightly gives away your position, you have to warn him to leave, or he would be treated as a threat. If you're out of range, then just keep an eye out. There isn't a huge amount you can do about that.

You can say Value your life, or RP properly etc, but to be honest, there isn't a single person on this server that RP's on this server in every situation like it's real life. I certainly don't, if I was flying a chopper in real life, I can guarantee you that I wouldn't be flying 6mm off the ground or the nearest tree. Sometimes you have to just accommodate the actions of other players and accept it as a reality. It's a sad fact that you have to do that, but there's little we can all do about it.

I agree, no one in this history of civilians run TOWARDS a firefight.

good RP is to scream and run!

personally I think the Respawn timer is wayyyyy to short.

what's a hobo got to lose? 15 seconds

whats a hobo got to gain? Unlocked cars, dropped guns and dropped money

make them FEAR the timer!
