So second night running scrolling the 65 civ slots for an hour trying to get in only to give up :(

Any chance that a second server might return?

 
I gave up & went & trolled elsewhere we had a sponsored suicide jump from the crane in Kavala which was fun.

we need a second server not more civ slots... 

OR 

U can Lock the server and share the password in the forums, So in order to join the server THEY must sign up in the website!
With a nice banner in the first page " GET THE SERVER PASSWORD" 

U can send admin messages in game saying that in XX Of May the server will be passworded, who ever wants the password must sign up in altislife.co.uk
imho That will increase the population in the website/community and the Donations. It will keep the server trolling free or at least it will be decreased dramaticaly. 
And the NEWComers in Altis Life mod will be forced to have a look in a site before and probably read the rules too... OR they will join an open server check the mod and if they like it as a game  I'm sure that they will try to find the password for A GOOD role play Server!

Plus it will make Hacker's life more complicated in order to nuke our server.

Think of it... U can give it a try... it need some days Advertise the feature and u can lock it for few days... the game experience will definetely max out.

 
Plenty of people in the community (signed up for forums) to make passworded server full of those who know the rules. Would also mean less work for admins having to deal with banning VDM trolls.

If forum sign up was set so that server rules need to be read to complete registration it would also be good for stopping bad role play/vdm/rdm. Stops the tired excuses of not knowing the rules, or 'my dog was playing on my account and gots me banned :'('.

I think Wilco and co want the server to be open to all for the increased traffic, which is fair enough but the server has a good reputation (isn't like majority of Altis Life servers which play like GTA online) so anyone wanting to play serious roleplay will take the 5 mins to sign-up here and get the password.

 
btw i checked the Altis Life Server stats, after wilcos post... and i saw that the 2nd server in all arma3 servers and first in Altis life servers
Is..... Locked and u need to get a password from the site to get in... its called Fantasma from altisrp.fr 
Can anyone that knows french (as it is only french server) to give more info from their website?

 
if there were to be more civi slots added there is the potential that the server would fill up completely with civilians, (if no cops could join a space). If you know what i mean about this.

So my point is a second server is needed, but after reviewing other servers ways of dealing with this, there is either more servers which means there are about 40 people on at each time. Such as the servers in-which initials are ... , 3 letters. I think that this would not work for our community because even when there was 2 servers most people wanted to stick to 1 anyways.

The only suggestion i can give is for perhaps players to gain an advanced membership either through being a forum member or maybe even donator, this means that a police man would have the ability to kick "non advanced" members out for their own position, or to give designated slots, i don't really know as this sudden surge as hit us all as a surprise (i think)

Just some things to consider.

 
if password the server you restrict the community growth and then you would have to advertise the server or change the name of the server to "for access visit altislife.co.uk" or something, that doesnt really so a good image for the server.

lot of players just want to see what RP servers are like, they dont wish to sign up to this that and the other, they just wish to play. it does have its advantages to reducing trolls and players not reading the rules.
thats why i dont think adding a password is a good move into expanding the community.

my views and opinions come from both administrating and owning servers/communities  myself.

You don't have to change the name at all, when a server is password protected and the server name has Altislife.co.uk in it, it's bacisly 1+1=2 and if people don't understand that for the password you need to visit the site in the name then they don't really belong on the server.

But do we need such players?... 

so after u play a month or so in altis life servers and u actually like the way the game is played , but for example u will join the BWG servers and u will rdmed by a 50cal :p , weren't u going to check why this Altis Life server is passworded?

We need Hardcored RP players , these will bring quality over quantity in the beggining,,, but soon enough will turn our server to the top 3 altis life servers...

 
you need beginner players to join so they stick with the server, "hardcore RP players" would stick with there own servers. so you need the beginners and basically train them up and there stick with the server, if they like the gamemode. Alot of players like building a reputation within the community as they play and later become moderators, admins and donators. they wouldent sacrifice that just to join another server.

the plus side of having a password and people joininng the site is that you can add in custom content to the server which gives it the edge over other servers. however i am sure i have read somewhere that its not where they was the server to lead.

Due all the players reports/suggestions, we are currently reviewing this topic and we will get back to you guys and inform as soon as possible.

 
Perhaps the server could be pass-worded either only on weekends or week days, so that we have days to show players a good roleplay environment and to recruit more players. Being the guy that most would think badly of, even i would go onto the forums as a password protected server is appealing as the RP will be great.

 
The server will never be passworded, This is a open community.

In terms of the server slots we need to keep some open for the please but it infact does not look like there is enough civ slots.

I will review this with the police in due course as with a active force online this would not be an issue.
