The Report Player Section

Someone has got to say this, and I'm afraid everyone is too afraid to actually post something but the report a player section right now is absolutely pathetic and it needs addressing, all I see is a report war between TKC/TI and EXP... Half of the evidence is either bullshit, fabricated or old footage used in retaliation for another report or banning.

Something NEEDS to happen, I'd like to call attention to this especially towards the admins and maybe we can discuss this further and shed some light on what can be done, I'm sure the Admins notice what is going on and have some opinions on it, I also realise that some sort of statement might be being made by Vacatio later today judging by the reports made against [TI] Ben.

I don't know who's fault this is, and quite frankly I do not care, I'm not going to start naming names or pointing fingers because it's happening on both sides ... in-game wars should not be carried out on the forums it makes the community look bad.

Thank you for reading, let's have a MATURE discussion otherwise I'll just request this thread be locked.

Dont you worry because of the recent bitch fest and using report a player  as a weapon there will be punishment for there actions. This goes to all involved. This is to come in a post i will make later on. After spending hours of my own time dealing with this childish fucking behavior i as well as much of the community and admin team have had enough. Lessons will be learnt due to the immature actions of the few.

1:Threatening to use evidence to ban people when it suits you = Punishment

2: Holding evidence back for days/weeks until it suits to to use it = Punishment

3: Gangs teaming up using withheld evidence to get back at other gangs when they feel like it = Punishment.

The voice of reason! I was just about to post about this clusterfuck too...

We've had this sort of thing before... usually someone (or a group of people) from one gang get butthurt because they've been reported and/or banned as a result of an action involving rivals in another gang.

It's a real timewaster for admins, and makes life extremely boring for everyone concerned.

I'd personally suggest that any report of an activity that was more than 24 hours ago, should simply be ignored. Threadlocked/deleted/consigned to the bin. It's ludicrous to expect people to hold on to evidence videos for weeks on end, or even more than a day or two, so let's just use commonsense?

If you can't substantiate a claim, don't post about it. Evidence, not gossip, is what's needed.

If your claim is more than a day old, forget it - don't post about it - it's too late for anyone to do anything about it.

Breach those rules, get punished, I'd say.

Any thread that turns into a bitchfest, or any poster that ends up on 'vendettas' posting thread after thread about the same gang's members, gets warned or punished, if it's obvious they are just griping and if evidence is weak, non-existent or nonsense. Admins can always spot the gripers, don't worry.

Remember, admins don't get paid to wade through this kind of crap. If people can't play nice, and have to keep whining to teacher about how they got into a fight (that usually they started themselves), then fine - they can sit on the naughty step and learn some life-lessons.

I fully agree with this, also "known" members of the server SHOULD talk to each other in ts before hand and try and resolve the issue before even posting and causing drama on the forums.

(many people don't try and fix the issue over ts3.)

Agree with the lack of long-term members not discussing their problems over teamspeak, adding to this I thnk their should only be the accuser and the accused discussing as anyone in a gang just brings the gang in and then nothing productive happens.

Thanks, Vixxy ;)

I feel that if something happens you should try and resolve it on ts3 and if you feel it is going to get volatile have someone neutral sit in and mediate it.

Why not make it so that eatch report needs to be filled in after the server restart then? This gives every player 4 hrs. time to report. However due to upload latency you could mention (video will be uploaded asap) that the evidence is on it's way (no later then 24hrs)

Also, I personaly find it a bit strange that player(s) are finding the time to play instead of answering on a admin-question(s) instead. When there is a report running on there behalf. If a defence isn't put up within the same 24hrs timelaps, same rule should count. By this it's a two side effort. Proving that TS would be the best solution.

I would just add to this that players should have to show some attempt to resolve the issue with the player before the report. So many go up with "Have you tried to resolve with the player before posting?: No" I think @♥PrincessShannon♥ mentioned this in another topic before and I totally agree with it.

I did i just spent 30 mins looking for that post and was unable to find it <.<

I've found that players seem to be more interested in trying to get people banned than actually playing and enjoying the server. Seems every fire-fight that occurs between gangs there is always someone being reported at the end of it :/

I know that its no excuse but If I want to play and report rule breakers, i have to do it between 1 and 2 days later, because of my poor internet..

if its a day old then it wont work for me and the amount of vdmers/rdmers/rulebreakers i report will go down.

I had a good glance but can't find it either .

how do i report a player?
Go here and create a report using Wilco's template (the first post on the trend) and ensure that you talk to the player beforehand if possible and provide sufficient evidence of the rule breaking (ie:screenshot or video)

This is a clear problem right now, getting in to any sort of shoot out you feel like you have to check the forums after to see if you were reported or not, this bothered me a lot when I was a newer player - even when I KNEW I hadn't broken any rules.

When your not the one who starts the RP for example your a sniper... i feel so scared when i click the left button of my mouse... even tho i know that i can fire, i still check the website an hour or so after just to see.

Agreed. I like to think I'm a fair and nice officer when I play but I still check the forums every single night because I'm worried someone's going to report me for some tiny slip up or something like that.

For example, I was once banned by an admin because I VDM'd him as he was running on the road and I was in my Hemmt. I looked at my footage and you couldn't see anything from my perspective because it was just down to desync.

A bit of kindness and a few words would go a long way
