The Pillbox Changes.

Before I start on this post I want to make it very clear that I am not slating nor attempting to discourage ANY dev work that has been done or besmudge any time spent on it.

In my opinion, and I know it's new so It may just be a case of giving it some time, the pillbox changes have not been great. I feel as though being simply blunt is the best way to approach this, I am not a fan of the "added" security up and around pillbox, I understand it was done to keep those pesky baldies out and stop people from loitering at the pillbox but it just feels as if it was a slight overkill, the sheer amount of bollards and locked gates make the pillbox seem like a type of fortress guarding high valued equipment or prisoners/individuals which it is not, it is a simple hospital. I liked the small interactions from having people drive up to the front doors asking for help or just making jokes and having a laugh, it feel's too distant now as car's aren't allowed as close. Pillbox is guarded by G6 officer's, putting up all these barriers and locked gates only takes away the RP interaction's between the security guards and the public.

Moving the "sign in man" downstairs was not the greatest move nor do I think it a bad one, which is why I think there should be TWO "sign in men" one upstairs like before and one downstairs, this way people will still use the upstairs entrance like before but can also use the downstairs should they please. The natural layout and flow of the Pillbox always made sense for the majority of the interaction's and time spent to be upstairs, not only is there large amounts of waiting areas but also a front desk making it ideal for it.


Now, I know it's new so I may just be jumping the gun or simply fond of the old ways and aura the original pillbox had but I feel like a healthy discussion can't go wrong, It would be great to hear other's opinions on the changes!
 
I kind of agree! I've talked to fellow G6 members about this too. Some weren't even sure where they should guard pillbox now. Upper? Lower?
I understand a lot of people break rule G6 Loitering everyday. But I think personally this is indeed quite overkill. Playing G6 at times could be rather boring when it's not really active, and I am afraid this takes away from that.

It's not just that tho. When I am on my police character I can respect a gang rushing the hospital to get their injured but apprehended mates back. This just got way harder due to all the new extra security measurements.

I feel like it limits the possible RP and almost designates Pillbox as a "green zone", which I think is not nessecary.

I believe it's still possible to check-in at the upstairs front desk (I haven't tried it myself but I recall seeing it mentioned somewhere) however I'm guessing that wasn't mentioned on the changelog to encourage people to check-in dead people at lower and alive people at upper as that's how it's now intended to be used

i mean, there is still a "easy" way to get into the garage, so it's not really gotten harder to get people out compared to before, most crims(from my experience) tend to shoot at police from the highway anyway
 
This is a big +1 for me,

I feel since the new pillbox changes have been implemented Pillbox has become a ghost town, leaving G6 with little to no RP at that area. Yes i agree there was a case of people being knobs and loitering too much but i feel that is why the rule is there. This has not only affected G6 but has also made it seem like a 'green zone' like Pete has said above. This is due to the amount of security around the pillbox even without G6 being there, reducing the amount of roleplay that can unfold with gangs taking back their own or doing other things that can create a good story.

However, i do feel there can be a fix for this, if there was to a doctor at the top of Pillbox like it was previous, and a doctor at lower i feel this would spread out the whole craziness around the area due to people having 2 different options when taking their friends to check in. I feel even little things like the bollards outside of the lower pillbox garage should also be removed as i just dont believe there is a real gain with these other than just being more of a pain in the ass for emergency services. Another little thing i believe should be added back is the parking meters at upper Pillbox. As a fairly active G6 member this was something me and a few other officers enjoying used to roleplay with and i understand these are now at lower pillbox, but yet again it is very unlikely people are to leave their car there when they can use the public parking and put it safely away in a garage and unable to be robbed/towed by a mechanic.

We checked the left clipboard and there is no option to sign in upstairs.

The changes are a nice addition, however I do agree that upper pillbox is now a ghost town which is kinda sad in a way.

Ok now it makes sense . TBH it was late and we were not putting 1 and 1 together, that you had to be in a down state 😂
 
When I first saw the two new wards I thought they weren't supposed to be locked. When I brought it up Phoenix mentioned it was intentional to prevent people from getting into fights right after they get out of the beds and so people don't get beat up whilst being treated. But it feels like it kind of contradicts itself because two people who both got admitted at the same time could start fighting and G6 wouldn't have a clue.

I also reckon the two new wards will just allow people to try and check in as quickly as possible so if the police try and come after them they can just run off as they now have two elevator floors they can use to try and run off and if they managed to get their gun back not much will stop them from shooting the police if it's the only way they could get out of there.

It was also just fun seeing people duke it out at times and just the overall chaos that could sometimes ensue from it. I absolutely agree that Pillbox shouldn't be a green zone and it wouldn't make sense for it to become one as there's already in RP measurements in place like the triple sentence that keep people in check, even though not everyone who causes problems gets punished for it.

I've also noticed you can't check yourself in by using your third eye on beds anymore when incapacitated since the change which is a bit odd.
