Quick update, news breaking - but not great news yet, sadly...
The TS server has been moved to a new machine/server-bank, and consequently has a new IP address. Sadly, because I am only No.2 admin, I don't have the details for that in my control-panel at the hosting company. Oversight, probably, rather than political, but the result is the same.
This means that we probably have a spanking new TS server set idle for the last 15 hours or more with nobody on it. Grrr.
I'm quizzing ViLayer to give me the IP address, and they're being a little slow in responding (I have been talking to their CEO on Skype... it's possible he doesn't know it himself, and is having to quiz his down-line staff to find it out. Bear in mind I am not the customer, Wilco is - I'm just the lackey, as far as they are concerned, so they have no duty to respond to my questions, really).
Anyway... the fact that the IP address has changed means that our redirection service at ts3dns.com (which points 'ts.altislife.co.uk' to the correct TS address and port downstream) will not work until that is updated too. Alas, I don't have the keys for that control-panel either. It might seem mad now, but I'm not admin for everything - partly because I lose enough focus from developing the game, due to admin issues, and partly because admin-shit drives me batty. But I do get stuck in where I have to, and can.
So. Wilco is presumably asleep now, or AFK at least, and I can't raise him, but I have left plenty of messages. When he is back on the scene he will be able to check the new IP address (he has the hosting-company control panel for the TS server), and add it to the redirector service so that the handy URL works again. Can't give a time though, because I can't raise him. Just be patient... I've done as much as I can do right now.
Similarly, if I discover the IP address in the short term, I'll post that here so that people can attempt to connect directly, without using the redirection service, but don't hold your breath. I'm still waiting to have someone tell me it myself!
