It's been a long time coming and I just never got around to officially leaving as I didn't want to cause a 30 minute fit about me connecting to the teamspeak to speak with friends but I've found myself not being connected with the community anymore so I think it's about time for me to make an official departure
I joined a bit over 4 years ago with some friends who I'd met on Island Life on Arma 2, it was a huge change from us to go from Modded arma 2 to unmodded arma 3 but we stuck around as we had a lot of fun. One of my first memories on the server was being robbed whilst running oil at which point we were quite upset as we'd had this happen quite a bit recently, we called the police and SPC tiktak responded to us and escorted us through our next run and taught us on some lessons on how the island worked, I also remember his colleagues SPC Ram taking my friend down to the station to give him some money to compensate for what we had lost. I also still have very fond memories of all my encounters with the Marmite Miners who you'd always knew would have some great roleplay to bring when you encountered them.
During my 4 years being part of this community I've had tons of good experiences like this and I still do have fond memories of the community as a whole. I remember my first time joining the police I was so anxious during my first patrol which was CSI Dredd who ended up being kidnapped at the AR Weapons cache, I never made it past the FTT before leaving the police due to being clueless on what I was doing at the time and my friends returning to the community wanting me to play rebel with them. I did eventually rejoin the police and had a good time making friends and learning how to drive having joined the Road Trafficking Unit at which point I also learned how to handle myself on the server properly, around this time I also ended up joining the NHS reaching the rank of Surgeon and MTO, I still remember having a lot of fun in the NHS teaching students how to properly roleplay with people and how to handle themselves. I still have a fond memory of this student who amputated someone which was probably the best roleplay scenario I've seen in the NHS, it was thanks to the NHS I met a lot of my friends from this community so I will always remember my time in the NHS fondly.
After my computer broke down I came back after having been gone for a while and ended up trying out the rebel life by joining a gang that consited of more then me and a few friends. The gang I joined ended up being The Badman Bureau where I met people who taught me how to properly make money for an AW lisence. Sadly the gang disbanded the day after I had joined but some of the people I had met invited me to roll with them until I eventually ended up in IB (Inglorious Bastards) where I learnt about everything the rebel life had to offer. IB eventually ended up disbanding at which point I took another break from the community until @Valen Bell told me I should try to join the Poseidon Cartel which I ended up doing. I had a blast in Poseidon and I met a lot of good people who were also long standing members and they taught me how to have fun and roleplay without it needing to end up in a gunfight.
Whilst in Poseidon my staff application was accepted and I joined the staff team, for about a year I had a lot of fun in the staff team and I still remember spending a lot of time trying to figure out how people were exploiting and duping in stuff to try and make the server a better place, I spent a lot of time in the staff team banning skiddies and trying my best to make the community better for everyone. Here I would like to give a thanks to @Stavik for dragging me aside and teaching me how to deal with skiddies after I was left clueless during the skiddie attack I was part of dealing with. After about a year in the staff team I made the decision to leave due to personal reasons which leaves me here.
I've had to many great experiences in this community but sadly after 4 years I don't feel like I belong or am welcomed in this community anymore and I've thereby made the decision to make my official departure. I sincerely hope that everyone in the community has a good time enjoying themselves on the server.
I've decided to not tag a ton of people who have made my time in this community good but I reckon most of them will know who they are.
I'd lastly like to give a thanks to @Aiden who works very hard behind the scenes to keep this community running, I don't think he gets enough credit for everything he does for this community.
