I think people should just roleplay their characters/professions better.
If you're an all legal mechanic or taxi driver who's a little goody two shoes getting guns pointed at you, ya shouldn't be roleplaying like you're some big bad man Pablo Escobar type geeza, ya should be fearful and stressed if your character isn't used to those type of situations etc.
However, on the other side of the spectrum, if you're a battle-hardened criminal who's been through endless beefs, gunfights, knife fights you name it, you'd obviously be used to those scenarios and not be as stressed or fearful as that of a legal man who isn't used to those scenarios.
Honestly in my personal opinion, I think it all comes down to people roleplaying their characters better instead of forcing a stress system onto all players as I mentioned in the opening of this response. At the end of the day, its not all about winning situations, its about having a laugh and enjoying yourselves.
