Making Money

...My answer: Peaches!
Cannot believe this kind of behavior is being promoted to new players who may not know any better.

It was a really brilliant guide, up until this point.

For those new players would would prefer not  to be abducted, tortured, and dumped in a ditch miles from any city at the hands of the PeachMaster - stick with Apples. The gods smile upon the Apple pickers, and smite the unwashed Peach pickers.

(More seriously though, really good guide buddy! Pretty much nailed all the basics. Good job)

I've updated a few of the points and added a couple more based on some suggestions from users.

I'll add a section about Gangs and groups later this week.

Truth be told, I'm enjoying writing this guide, and getting to know the community through it - If no-one objects, As time goes on I will compile guides for the other aspects of the game - The stickied Hobo Guides are great, but Alexims post appears to have stopped, and I don't think I'd go into that much detail.

I do have to ask though, is it too much info to put the stats and costs of vehicles on the forum, or is it better that it remains a fully IC thing that you need to discover?

One of my other ideas was to do a 'Being a baddie' guide, but do it fully IC - Wear a press uniform and roll with a gang of baddies for a few sessions - Not committing any crimes myself (Want to keep my record clean) and keeping away from firefights in surrender position, but it means I can at least see how it works from that side of things. My character is already bald, So I can Ross Kemp the hell out of it!

If all of this is 'Giving too much away' That's absolutely fine.

@Esqy Great job with the guide

I thought of a suggestion (if you don't mind)

maybe mention about switching the chat to vehicle when you're in a car as I remember a few times on the server(i'm away at moment) there's been newbies that don't always know that you need to do that to talk properly

Good idea about the bad guy guide I normally RP as a BBC Altis press guy(posted a few news stories on the forum) :)

but be very careful if getting involved with violent rebels!

-Sam Seeley-

Good Idea Sam - I'll make up a 'Chat Channel' Section and detail what each channel is for and it's proper usage.

With the 'Ross Kemp', The idea will be that OC it's showing someone the Baddies side of the game - So I would hope that a decent group who will genuinely not mess me over will step forward with a promise from me that they will stay anonymous if they want to.

IC, I will have nothing on me bar the vest and cap, so I wouldn't be worth robbing, and I can be under threat to not reveal the name of the gang.

On a similar vein, I'd do Ride-alongs with NHS, Police, ARAC and a Taxi and provide their stories aswell, so the new players know what they will be getting into!

Thanks @Esqy

Good luck then i'm sure you're find some gang who will go along with you! hopefully that's something that

people on the forum will help with(there's lots of great rebel roleplayers who would probably love to help)

I remember one person once  on Altis asked if I worked with Ross Kemp :) haha

The UNMC(Whitelisted rebels) will return somewhen so that's something else to cover!!

I look forward to reading about your adventures :)

Thanks Man.  I've found it useful for when I encounter clueless hobos, I direct them to - Hopefully it will help them have a solid foundation to start playing properly - If you are new to both the game AND roleplaying, it can be difficult to keep both up at the same time, especially when you just want to ask a simple question, like 'How do I surrender' or even 'What do I actually do in this game'

I just wanted to say thanks for creating this guide - it has proved immensely helpful! Mad props.

No worries man, pay it forward, and let others know about it. Also, if you think something else should be included, Let me know.

there's been a map update so editing the guide to change some things such as the casino in kavala market not being there anymore could confuse some people. this is amazing btw

Really good guide man :).

I don't see myself as a noob anymore but i still learnt some thing from this guide. I didn't know the gps would give you a minimap xD. And i think beginners will learn alot from this :)

Great post - eases how disheartening being robbed, and being a solo player can be at times!

And cant you sell cider at the pub? But either way apple/peach picking is definitely something ive found to be helpful(bonus that you can eat them too); even after being killed, make a few runs back and forth eventually you're kitted out again in no time... ready for the next robber

A really cool guide for new players well done mate and glad you toughed out that rough start you had !

So, Now I'm kindof back, I'm going to update this guide a bit.

Kavala has changed a lot, and as a result is a lot more newbie friendly. It's possible to get your basic kit and provisions without leaving the green zone and risk getting your 5k for a backpack stolen.

There are a few other bits, mostly location based, but the gist is still there.

Ok, Updated it a bit based on some Civillian stuff I did today. I'd like to add a bit about the Red Zone and maybe expand on the UNMC but I'm now knackered.

As always, Any suggestions are more than welcome - I will probably need to set a 'Stop' point, as It'll end up being a complete guide, when all I wanted was a newbie one. Ho Hum.

::Edit:: Note to self - Eating and Drinking.
