Some questions....

Hello everyone!

Some questions came up when I played the last few days (since I am relatively new to ARMA and everything). I hope someone can answer them! (And I hope this is the right forum section!)

• 1 As an off-duty cop I am not allowed to kill people etc. - so what I did was getting a pistol and just shout at people and maybe shoot around a bit to scare off people which resulted in me dying many times (Hobos don't give a shit!) - is there some rubber gun I can buy to at least defend myself against hobos? -> May I restrain people as an off-duty after doing so?
  
• 2 If people want to steal my car and force me to give them keys, may I shoot at tires etc. as soon as they try to leave?
  
• 3 What does scrapping/chopshopping mean? Is there a way to "transfer" some other guy's vehicle to mine?
  
• 4 Does scrapping/chopshopping cost something?
  
• 5 What is scrapping/chopshopping even good for? Just to piss off the owner of the vehicle?

1. You are allowed to kill in self-defence, if your life is being threatened.
2. If they have threatened you with guns and initiated, then yes.
3/4/5. Scrapping or chopping a vehicle means it gets destroyed, aka disappears from the owners garage, and whoever chopping it gets a small amount of money for doing so. What it is good for? Well, it keeps you on your toes and makes you value your vehicle. It makes people have to spend some of their easy-earned millions replacing their vehicles now and then. That's the two reasons that came to mind.

1. As an off duty cop, you are allowed to kill people, but ONLY in self-defence. - Restrain people is okay, but make sure you're doing it for a good reason (not robbing / executing, etc).

2. Yes that is fine, as long as enough RP has been initiated before hand. If someone gets in your car silently, make sure to tell them to get out of your car before you fire.

3. Scrapping / Chopping means someone takes a car to the shop, in exchange for money. The only way to transfer vehicle ownership is on aBay. If you look at a vehicle in your garage, you can 'Auction' a vehicle. Everyone will be able to publicly bid on your vehicle from the aBay store in Kavala. It takes 2-3 days for the auctions to complete.

4. No, anyone can do it, with no training / license required. However some vehicles cannot be chopped, such as the HEMMT Mover, Hellcat Helicopter, and the Huron Helicopter.

5. Not much, the money made from most things isn't really worth it. It's just a way to piss people off, or get revenge on someone.
